Arrow Season Four: Brotherhood

As Team Arrow continues to battle HIVE Diggle makes a shocking discovery and Thea's bloodlust returns.

Wow just wow! After the episode last week that I considered to be the worst of Season Four they now gave us one that is probably the best of the season. You already know of course that this was Diggle focused ep but what I liked about it from the start is that this showed he has completely gotten over what Oliver did in Season Three and he has got this new character arc for him. Even with the events of last season Diggle has always been the rock of the team but this one showed his real vulnerable side probably for the first time in the show as he deals with the return of his brother as a HIVE Ghost. I mean Diggle had some truly emotional moments where he was fighting back tears with what his brother has become and deciding in the end to choose his new family of Team Arrow rather than Andy who did some horrible things e.g. the cool moment where he saved his "green brother". Since Andy is captured this will probably be something Diggle has to deal with for a while but I wonder what they are going to do with him now? Continuing on with this subplot we also learn more about HIVE and the fact that the Ghost are all under the influence of a drug which makes them follow orders and breaks down their DNA. It might be the drug in the Flashbacks so I'll guess we'll wait for that conformation but I wonder if Team Arrow will focus their effects on destroying the supply after the crossover episodes? As for Damien he had some really awesome and threatening scenes such as the one his one with Quentin about Laurel and when he met Oliver during his campaign speech. Then of course there was the ending where Oliver chose to confront Damien in the light rather than infiltrate HIVE like he did with the League in Season Three and while I commend Oliver for this I wonder if it is a good idea. The look on Damien's face during the speech makes me think he really suspects Oliver is the Green Arrow now and he could either target his family or run for mayor himself, now that could be interesting to see.

As for everything else finally, finally Thea's bloodlust subplot is getting interesting because before her confrontation with Damien I didn't care but afterwards it got good. Her making Damien's powers backfire on him (probably because of the Pit) was a development I have been waiting for; finally a relevant twist to the bloodlust that doesn't feel like a waste of time. Now Thea can be useful and I am looking forward to seeing what she and Malcolm are going to come up with to exploit it. Then there was Ray's subplot which was really good where he had to struggle with finding his place in the world and that's not running his company. Of course this is all set up for LOT but it gave him a small little character arc and then there was him suiting up as ATOM to kick some ass at the end which is what I wanted to see! Finally the Flashbacks look like they good be getting more interesting because Oliver now has a real mission and I liked the mysterious twig magic Reiter did; makes me think we can see more magic out of him like Damien and Constantine. Before I finish I got to say that the fights scenes in this episode where some of the best ever! I heard they got the stunt coordinator James Bamford to direct and he did an awesome job, the fight scenes weren't just a butch of quick cuts they stayed on the action. For example they really showed Black Canary kicking ass in the beginning after her scream and then there was Thea's super, damn, awesome fight with Andy in the elevator, that was edge of you seat stuff.

Overall this was just a perfect episode in my opinion, maybe Oliver as Green Arrow took a backseat but it didn't suffer for it because it was supposed to be more about Diggle anyway.

SCORE: 10/10

Highlights: A strong Diggle episode
Great subplots for Thea and Ray
Damien and more info on HIVE
                   They truly epic fight scenes

Bleach Review: BABY, HOLD YOUR HAND 3 (Mad Lullaby no.7)

Time for Nemu to shine!
Pernida manages to survive being swallowed and begins to attack with a new set of moves which has Mayrui on the defensive.

Well this was a bit of an odd chapter which I am not to sure I like too much. First off the chapter starts with a vague Flashback of possibly Nemu awakening as a child and seeing a hand greeting him which is probably Mayuri's. Unfortunately we didn't get much of that when back in the present Pernida escapes from Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō and attacks Mayuri, though I think everyone must have called this. What is interesting however is that Pernida begins to use a Quincy bow and arrow and it's speech and behaviour keeps changing, something that Mayrui notices and believes Pernida is evolving. Mayuri then has a hard time dodging the arrows and we get some and shot of his arm being ripped off (and later Nemu's) but  again it was obvious Pernida was going to get the upper hand in this fight eventually. However its seems that Nemu has finally stepped in something that Mayuri berates her for and then calls her Nemuri Nanago (something that Manga Stream translated to Sleeping no.7) which was a surprise. I guess Nemu was not the first artificial being Mayuri created which makes me think there could be a Flashback to her creation soon. However like with Mayuri trying to figure out Pernida's behaviour it is to vague and I would have wanted some more background and flashbacks to explain these more.

"Looky what I can do"
Overall that is all we got, the chapter was not long and the only things that was interesting was Pernida still believing it is a Quincy (I think Yhwach brainwashed it) and some background on Nemu. Also while Mayuri is my favourite Captain I do hope this fight changes up a bit soon like Ikkaku and Yumichika joining in or Ukitake arriving because he had the Right Arm inside him.

SCORE: 6/10

Highlights: Pernida's evolution and using bows and arrows
                   Background on Nemu

Let - Downs: The fighting was alright but just mostly dodging
Could have used more Flashbacks and the explanations of Pernida and Nemu are too vague
Chapter felt short because nothing much really happened

Bleach Review: Friend 3

"I thought you where my FRIEND!"
The Flashbacks seem to conclude with Yhwach explaining to Haschwalth the true nature behind his powers.

I may have said it seems to conclude but I guess it is still too early to tell yet because it could have just been a quick transition to the present at the end of the chapter. I did find this chapter interesting but like the last one not too exciting because it spent the majority of it on a long winded explanation of Haschwalth's powers. It does reveal a lot with the fact that Yhwach and Haschwalth are the only two Quincy who give power instead of taking it and again explains why Haschwalth doesn't display any Quincy powers in the past or the present. The highlight of the chapter though is Bazz - B because I just feel really bad for the guy now; he believed he was a progeny but his advancement was all thanks to Haschwalth and there was the fact that he was jealous of Haschwalth being Yhwach's right hand man. Now I know Bazz - B wants to kill Yhwach so I think his jealous stems from the fact he trained for this moment for years only to have it taken away from him. Then there was the moment Bazz - B fired at Yhwach which was so awesome and Haschwalth catching the arrow; that was the moment he seemed to completely side with Yhwach. This has a lot to do with the great facial expressions Kubo did this chapter because they showed a lot of emotion. Continuing on with Haschwalth the reason I think he joined Yhwach so easily is because he never seemed as dedicated in killing Yhwach as Bazz - B but despite that he was still loyal to his friend when he spoke for Bazz - B. Finally there was the scene at the end when Haschwalth slashes Bazz - B which was really cool but I doubt the fight is over this soon.

I really hope this isn't the end of Bazz - B
Overall if this really is the end of the Flashbacks and of Bazz - B I would be disappointed because I wanted to see the first Sternritter, the war between the Quincy and Soul Reapers and how Bazz - B even got to be a Sternritter when he attempted to kill Yhwach?

SCORE: 7/10

Highlights: Haschwalth's powers explained
Bazz - B's shot at Yhwach
                   Detailed facial expressions this chapter

Let - Downs: Majority of it spent explaining too much

Bleach Review: Friend 2

"Why aren't you bowing before me kid?"
The Flashback continues with Bazz - B and Haschwalth who try to join the Sternritter when Yhwach sends recruiters to various towns.

Glad we are getting more and more Flashbacks however I will get it out of the way now that it is a damn shame we didn't see more of the Bazz - B vs. Haschwalth fight in the present because it has been awesome so far. All in all this chapter wasn't as exciting as the previous two but it was still a gripping read with the reveal that Haschwalth is Yhwach's "Other Half". Not sure what this really means yet but it must have something to do with the fact that they can switch powers in the present and that Haschwalth couldn't form a bow while training. Now that I think of it he has only used a sword in the present and hasn't used any Quincy powers so maybe that is the trade off for being the "Other Half", plus Haschwalth was also the only Quincy not affected by Yhwach's spiritual pressure. We also got some lore on the Quincy's that a type like Haschwalth with no powers is rare but what I would like to know is where exactly in the world is this set because it seems the town was full of Quinces? Other than this it was great seeing Bazz - B get more development because he is really loyal to his friend during all their training and it was sad to see him truly believing he was going to be chosen by Yhwach because of how powerful he was even young. You know Kubo really portrayed Bazz - B as a manic when first introduced but he has been given a lot more depth; I'm guessing despite Bazz - B wanting to kill Yhwach he still hated Soul Reapers which is why he fought so many during the invasion. Lastly it was good to see more Quinces that Yamamoto had killed which makes me really excited to see a big battle soon.

I wonder when these two will be burnt to a crisp lol
Overall not that much happened but it was still a great chapter and I really, really want to see some younger versions of Sternritter soon.

SCORE: 7/10

Highlights: Bazz - B has been developed into a really great character
                   Haschwalth as Yhwach's "Other Half"

Let - Downs: Not that exciting this week

Bleach Review: Friend

"That was supposed to be my rabbit!"
While Bazz - B and Haschwalth continue their fight we get Flashbacks to when they first met and the early days of Yhwach's conquest.

Now this is the chapter we have all been waiting for, a Flashback arc focused on the Wandenreich set a thousand years ago just before Yhwach was sealed by Yamamoto. Now I think it is set back then because of the evidence; the scenery with castles, the dead Quincy Zeiditz and a younger Yhwach who is said to be over 200 years old even though in the present he is way older than that because it is after his sealing. I also want to point out that the only other Sternritters to get a Flashback where Lloyd, Royd and As Nodt and those where only a few pages long. First off I am really liking the friendship that has been developed between Bazz - B and Haschwalth because it adds a lot more depth to their characters and defiantly makes Bazz - B justified for turning against the Wandenreich. We got some funny dialogue between them as kids (With Bazz - B dressed as a Roman solider) and it is interesting that Bazz - B was superior to Haschwalth back then. It was nice that though Haschwalth was quite throughout he seemed to enjoy Bazz -B's company after the latter tossed him the rabbit however that didn't last with the arrival of his uncle who I think we may see because soon because he was kept in shadow.

When are you going to show us Burner Finger 5?
These good times didn't last with Yhwach burning down the castle and forest, seems like he ruled with an iron fist back then too, and Haschwalth and Bazz - B swearing vengeance. However I'm guessing something changed with Haschwalth because he is so loyal to Yhwach now and he is also given his power at night; maybe he betrayed Bazz - B at some point? Still this revenge plot kind of reminds me of Gin's however this one is defiantly more developed than that one lol. The chapter then ends with Yhwach telling Zeiditz that he will create a new vanguard called the Sternritter to conquer the Soul Society which makes me so excited for next chapter because we can see the origins of the group. Since this most likely is a 1000 years ago the Sternritter in the present won't be the same as the past because firstly Yamamoto does decimate the Quincy and Yhwach recruits ones born in modern day (like the Y brothers and As Nodt) this make me think that surviving Sternritter, like Bazz - B and Haschwalth, go in some kind of suspended animation while Yhwach is sealed until being awoken in the present where Yhwach fills in the rest of the letters. I cannot wait to see which Sternritter where alive in the past and I hope we get some massive battle between the first Sternritter and the Soul Reapers. Finally the first between Bazz - B and Haschwalth in the present is still so damn good!

Overall I hope this turns into another Turn Back The Pendulum arc because I want more and more Flashbacks. Again this chapter was just perfect and I may have to keep giving out 10/10 if the rest of the Flashbacks are all this good lol.

SCORE: 10/10

Highlights: Flashbacks
Origin of the Sternritter hinted at next chapter
Bazz - B vs. Haschwalth continues to be awesome

Bleach Review: The Twinned Twilight

"Time to BURN!"
Grimmjow continues to goad Askin into battle meanwhile Bazz - B and Haschwalth start their fight.

Now this is the kind of chapter I have been waiting for; getting right into the action and not being dragged down by long exposition of the current situation. First of the beginning of this chapter was so funny with Askin running away from Grimmjow because he wanted to sneak attack Ichigo's group rather than fight them head on. Of course Grimmjow gives chase and we get a bit of a teaser for a new move when his fingers transforms into claws; to me this looks like he is preparing a move similar to Desgarron even though he isn't in his Resurreccion. I am looking forward to seeing Grimmjow in a fight once again and I hope he has a lot of new power ups and maybe a second release form. As for Askin like my last review I really think this is a charade and he has yet to show his true, I think this because of the way he has been acting and his has been hyped up for ages but unlike Pepe I don't think we will be disappointed.

As for the later half of the chapter I was glad to see that Haschwalth actually got to fight Bazz - B and we got some really cool scenes of Haschwalth using his sword and Bazz - B using his Burner Fingers. There where three important things to take from this second half; one Uryu has actually entered the battle (probably going to fight Mayuri) but Haschwalth still does not trust him because he wanted a spy placed on him. Secondly it is revealed that Haschwalth actually takes over and gains the power when Yhwach sleeps, I did not expec thist because Bazz - B isn't just randomly attacking him, Bazz - B believes he can destroy Yhwach's power when it is transferred to Haschwalth. Thirdly we get the reveal that Bazz - B and Haschwalth where proper friends (a least Bazz - B thought so) because they gave each other nicknames and Bazz - B took it really personally when Yhwach used Auswahlen. Plus we got to know that Auswahlen takes way the survivor's Vollstandig so Bazz - B is already at a disadvantage in this fight but he must obviously have a plan or he wouldn't charge right in to battle.

What is this new move?
Overall after the slow pacing of the previous chapters this one was just so refreshing; we got some awesome fights set up and we could get a Bazz - B flashback next chapter. This is great because I want to know more about the Wandenreich, the Quinces and this friendship between Bazz - B and Haschwalth.

SCORE: 10/10

Highlights: Funny moments with Askin and Grimmjow
Haschwalth vs. Bazz - B/them being friends?

The Flash Season One: Tricksters

"I've fought a Flash before, you think I can't deal with you?"
When a killer known as the Trickster (Devon Graye) causes chaos in Central City Barry and Joe must turn to the original Trickster (Mark Hamill) for help who has been imprisoned for 20 years. Meanwhile Iris asks for Eddie's help with her research and in Flashbacks we see how Wells came up with the idea of the particle accelerator.

The Flash continues to be one of the greatest TV shows of all time and that is because it keeps giving us some really awesome episodes like this! Of course the main focus of this episode was Mark Hamill who reprised his role as the Trickster from the original 90s Flash TV show. What is great about this is that they done it as a way that Hamill's time as the Trickster did count it just didn't have the Flash and that was shown with still photos, his old costume, lair and that he kidnapped Barry's dad who used to be the Flash in the 90s. I have also always been a fan of Hamill and he was just great in this; he was like a cross between his old Trickster, Hannibal Lector and he used his Joker voice in there as well which was cool. He proved to be quite the opponent for the police and the Flash with his master breakout plan, his poison one and wrist bomb; his performance and these things really gave the episode a more comic book feel. It also helps that this story with the two Tricksters is really similar to a comic story line however in the comic the original Trickster isn't the father of Axel and continues to hate him as a copycat but these where cool changes for the TV show. As for the young Trickster he was mainly used as a means to an end for Hamill to be involved but he was really cool and did the part well plus his costume was awesome, it was homage to the original yet with a modern take on it. All in all Hamill is defiantly my favourite guest character in the Arrow/Flash universe so far, his really psychotic, creepy and smart performance was great and you can just tell he is having the time of his life being the Trickster again.

Awesome slow motion fight
Now the other big thing about this was the reveal that Eobard Thawne used some futuristic plastic surgery technology to kill the real Wells and take his face. This was just such a WTF moment because it means that there actually used to be a Wells, he wasn't just some fake identity made up by Thawne. I got to say that this Thawne, who stalked and chose the right person to imitate, who has been waiting for 15 years and been a very convincing good guy is quite change from the psychotic Thawne I know from the comics. This also proves that this timeline has actually already been changed since Thawne created the particle accelerator to create the Flash a lot sooner than intended in his effort to get home. We also got to see him and the Flash fight in Barry's house 15 years ago (which was freaking awesome) however we still don't know how Thawne lost his connection to the Speed Force or what happened to the older Flash but I'm sure that will be revealed soon. Finally since the original Thawne has blond hair and blue eyes I wonder if that is a nod to the comics where that is the look for Barry and Thawne copies his likeness in that as well. As for everything else Barry had some great and emotional moments dealing with is anger at Wells and we also got to see him phase through objects which is another power of the Flash from the comics. Have to say that Thawne really gave himself away in that speech about phasing but I'm guessing since he is so close to his goal he is slipping a bit, so many suspect him now. As for what I didn't like even though Barry revealed his identity to Eddie to get more help against Wells I just think it came completely out of the blue and I don't know if they should have done it now. Then there is Iris and while I don't like her meetings with the Flash I actually feel sorry for her now because still her dad, Barry and now Eddie are keeping the truth from her and just find their excuse wearing thin now, annoying and kind of pointless.

Now that was pretty damn gruesome!
Overall one of the best episodes in the entire Arrow/Flash universe in my opinion with the best guest character.

SCORE: 9/10

Highlights: The Trickster storyline/Hamill back in the role
More history of Thawne and Wells
Barry dealing with his anger/phase through objects

Let - Down: Eddie learning Barry's secret just came out of nowhere
Still keeping Iris in the dark

The Flash Season One: The Sound and the Fury

No Meta - Humans this ep again
Well's former protégé Hartley Rathaway (Andy Mientus) returns to seek revenge after being affected by the particle accelerator and becoming Pied Piper. Cisco recalls his first day at S.T.A.R labs and Iris is hired by the Central City Picture News but gets off to a rocky start with reporter Mason Bridge (Roger Howarth).

This episode saw the introduction to a really great villain from the comics, Pied Piper, and I was really impressed with how he was portrayed; Andy Mientus did an awesome job. First off I liked how closely weaved in he was to the origins of the particle accelerator and the staff at S.T.A.R labs which was seen in the Flashbacks. This also gave Wells and Cisco a character who was close to them in their past which is good because unlike the other characters we don't know anything about their friends and family (especially Cisco). Back to Pied Piper I really liked his sonic based weapons, that he was affected by the explosion in a more negative way because of his hearing and how much of a challenge he posed to Team Flash because of his genius and the cool mind games he played with them. It is also good that he is the first gay character in the series and they didn't go overboard with that and made him a gay comic - relief. If there is a negative to say it is that while I liked his weapons and his plan I didn't like the way he was defeated because the whole cars with satellite radio was too convenient and a weak way to defeat him.

Finally the Speed Force is confirmed!
The other highlight was Wells who continues to be more and more interesting and we actually got to see him use his speed but that he couldn't use it for long. That was really interesting and it could be that like some other Reverse Flashes from the comics his speed did not naturally come from the Speed Force and he acquired it through other means. I am really glad they finally mentioned the Speed Force which is (keeping this spoiler free) a form of energy that grants a Speedster their powers and Barry plays a really large part with it in the comics. A Reverse Flash from the comics used technology to grant him powers from the Speed Force which could explain Well's wanting the tacion device, like with everything Wells does I want to know more and more about him. As for his role in the rest of the episode it does seem he generally cares for Barry, Caitlin and Cisco which still makes it hard to believe that he is a villain and I liked his confession about the particle accelerator because he also seems to regret ruining the lives of the citizens of Central City such as Caitlin. I tell you if this is all an act by Wells to hid his evil intentions then it is a really good one.

You should really wear a suit to your first day Cisco
As for the rest of the episode I wanted to first mention that the cameo of the Royal Flush Gang that appeared in Arrow was really cool, obviously it isn't the same gang but they could have inspired others and I kind of hope they touch on this a bit more. Iris actually had some strong material to work with this time and I enjoyed the scenes she was in at her new job. It isn't anything new (new reporter trying to prove themselves at the job) but it is something good for her character and now she will either want to find more information on the Flash or prove she can write other stories all the while trying to impress Bridge who I did like as well. One thing I didn't like was the moment between Joe and Barry when Barry says how good he was at raising him which I felt came completely out of no where. It's always good when we get a heart warming scene from these two (like in the last few episodes) but it just felt really out of place this episode because they had no conflict or anything throughout. As for Joe seems he is back to not trusting Wells but I wonder if his investigation will lead him getting killed in the end?

"Your time is over Bridge"
Overall great introduction to the Pied Piper and I hope he becomes a regular villain like Captain Cold. Looks like next episode could focus on Firestorm or not; I'm sure the Americans would know because their three episodes ahead of us! You know how hard it is to resist the temptation on reading what happens on Arrow and The Flash every day!

SCORE: 7/10

Highlights: Pied Piper debut
                   Wells and the Speed Force
Iris had a good plot for once

Let - Downs: How Pied Piper was defeated
Barry and Joe's scene was just out of place

Arrow Season Three: Draw Back Your Bow

The definition of crazy right here
The episode begins in a Flashback and Arrow saves Carrie during the attacks of the Mirakuru army, in the present Arrow and Quentin find the corpse of Isaac who was killed with red - spade shaped arrows. In a Flashback Maseo tells everyone he has to go on a mission for A.R.G.U.S while in the present Ray asks Felicity to go to dinner with him to help close a deal with a client meanwhile Oliver is angry that that Felicity is spending more time with Ray and that Queen Consolidated has been renamed Palmer Technologies. Arrow and Diggle then go to an address hidden in the red arrow and find a shrine dedicated to Arrow and realizes the red spade is actually a heart, he then gets a call from Cupid who is clearly infatuated with him but also taunts him with a tied up mob boss. Thea is looking for DJs at The Verdant but is hounded by an annoying one meanwhile at the Arrowcave Roy is still haunted by the cop he killed but luckily Felicity finds out the identity of Cupid who was a former SWAT officer. In a Flashback Maseo has been gone for too long so Oliver and Tatsu go out to find him, in the present Arrow and Arsenal go to the location of the mob boss at a flouriest however Cupid gets the drop on Arsenal but Arrow manages to save him and the mob boss.

"I've sure attracted a real nut job here"
Arrow then later tracks down Carrie's old psychiatrist and gets more information on her mental state while Diggle talks to Felicity about what is going on between her, Ray and Oliver however Felicity says Oliver has the problem since he gave up on her. In a Flashback Oliver and Tatsu track down some Triad but get no answers, in the present Cupid learns from a hacker that the Arrow operates at The Verdant before killing him. Oliver learns that Cupid is at The Verdant so he calls her and she demands he meets him at the place she picks elsewhere Felicity gives an impressive speech to the mine owners Ray is meeting with. Arrow manages to defeat Cupid despite being almost run over by a train and then he hands her over to the Suicide Squad in hopes she can do some good, in a Flashback Maseo turns up safe and sound. Ray then thanks Felicity for her help and kisses her but seems to hesitate and walks away while at the Arrowcave Roy and Oliver decide to visit Diggle and his family for dinner. The episode ends with Digger Harkness AKA Captain Boomerang killing a man in an alley.

"Should have know she would have had handcuffs on her"
Got another great adaptation of an Arrow villain and this time it is the love obsessed psycho Cupid! They really did quite the good job of making her out to be incredibly crazy such as her stalking Arrow in the last episode and this one to her insane shrine of Arrow in her apartment; maybe this girl watched 'Play Misty for Me' a little too many times lol. I really like her costume and her heart shaped arrows was a really nice touch (they had it in the intro sequence!). Her fight was Arrow was good to watch, I mean she really was insane the way she was going to kill herself with Arrow, however I didn't like that Arsenal was taken out so easily however he is still getting over killing a cop. I'm glad that she is still alive and is now apart of the Suicide Squad; I hope we get to see them soon and that besides Cupid they have new members, they don't have to all be past Arrow villain they should introduce new ones.

My favourite Suicide Squad member!
As for everything else the Flashbacks where a lot better and Tatsu wasn't so annoying and actually used her katana. However I am still not enjoying it as much as the island since the ending with Maseo still alive was so underwhelming, he just appeared at the end safe and sound and said he just couldn't phone home for hours. I also liked the cute moments with Ray and Felicity and a pairing between them probably works more than any of the others we have seen so far, even Oliver and Felicity in my opinion (I mean you did hear how much he spent on that dress and necklace for her!). Lastly who the hell was that annoying DJ character? I mean honestly what a stuck up p***k! I don't know what purpose he was supposed to serve but I hope he doesn't appear on the series again. While we are on the subject of annoying characters, I know it was only one scene, but Cupid's old psychiatrist was damn annoying! Where does she get off talk to Arrow like that?

Sorry OliverxFelicity fans I'm more for RayxFelicity
Overall get episode and the ending scene with Captain Boomerang, one of my favourite villains and Suicide Squad members, was just awesome!

SCORE: 8/10

Highlights: Cupid
                   Flashbacks got a bit better
                   Ray and Felicity

Let - Downs: Flashback ending was underwhelming

Arrow Season Three: Guilty

"I am Wildcat"
The episode begins with Arrow and Red Arrow going to stop a drug deal however they find the dealers dead and hanged with the word GUILTY written in blood, Roy then secretly asks Felicity to check for any Mirakuru still in his system. In a Flashback Oliver and Maseo tail a guy but when they lose track of him they find out the package they where supposed to get was not on him, in the present Arrow tracks down another hanged man which is in the Wildcat Gym and runs into Ted and Laurel. At the Arrowcave Felicity tells Roy there is no Mirakuru in his system so Roy tells her of his nightmares meanwhile Ted is questioned but Laurel vouches for him to Quentin and Oliver the latter is then angry that Laurel is in training. In a Flashback since Oliver can't remember where the package is Maseo asks his wife Tatsu (Rila Fukushima) to use a concentration technique on him which works. In the present Arrow tracks down Ted's storage locker which has another body but also evidence of vigilantism, Ted shows up and he and Arrow have a short fight but after Ted admits he used to be a vigilante but quit after he beat a drug dealer to death. The two go to the site of the murder where they find Ted's old crime fighting partner Isaac who is mad Ted abandoned him and wants revenge however he escapes and Ted is arrested by police.

Does he even have a vigilante name?
At the Arrowcave Roy tells the rest his nightmares of killing Sara and Felicity admits it is possible with the evidence, Oliver then admits to Diggle and Laurel he doesn't know what to do with Roy. Laurel then gets Ted free, after he admits to her Isaac killed the drug dealer and he abandoned him soon after, however the two are then kidnapped by Isaac. Arrow goes to rescue them (Laurel had her phone on) however Red Arrow shows up later and stops Isaac and asks Arrow not to abandon him, later Arrow goes to Ted to ask him to stop training Laurel however he refuses saying it is her choice. Oliver then tells Roy they should rename him Arsenal and then uses the concentration technique on him; it is revealed Roy didn't kill Sara but was mixing his memories of the time he killed a cop while on his Mirakuru rampage, this still upsets Roy. The episode ends with Laurel asking Ted to train her not just to fight but to be a vigilante and Isaac is later killed by female archer Carrie Cutter AKA Cupid (Amy Gumenick).

FIGHT!
Another episode on a character who I wanted more background on and that was Ted Grant and I am really glad that this episode confirms that he was a vigilante because even of he has retired he could always don his mask again. I liked that this addresses that there where vigilantes in Starling even before Arrow came in to the picture and I liked the whole story between Ted and Isaac and that it mirrored what was happening between Oliver and Roy. Speaking about Roy he too had an interesting subplot and it was good he teamed up with Felicity because I don't think the two have interacted much. It also keeps the mystery of who killed Sara still going however I feel that Roy's subplot could have had more of a focus as well. Then there was Laurel and she is still getting to be a better character now with the way she stuck with Ted and I hope the two team up when they are vigilantes.

Where are the ears?
As for the rest of the episode I admit I didn't like Oliver's attitude much (the boxing glove arrow was great though) because he constantly thought the worse of Ted because he killed one drug dealer but honestly who is he to judge people about killing? It just got on my nerves and him also constantly telling Laurel to stay away from him and to stop training didn't help either. Then there is the Flashbacks and I didn't like them at all because they where just really slow with that whole concentration technique and I find Tatsu to be an annoying bitch; I know she is portraying Katana from the comics but all I see is someone whose attitude I didn't like and can barely stand to watch. I  am not enjoying these Hong Kong Flashbacks that much (except for the Tommy one) because they are just feeling like a waste of time, especially this one which that could have focused more on Roy instead of the bitch Tatsu. However I did like the end of the episode with the introduction of Cupid who I'm really looking forward to seeing and if she is like her comic counterpart she will be a complete nut case.

"I'm Cupid stupid....that rhymes"
Overall glad we got an episode focused on Ted Grant and Roy.

SCORE: 7/10

Highlights: Ted Grant focused episode
                   Roy subplot
                   Cupid introduced

Let - Downs: Oliver's attitude
                       Flashbacks
                      Tatsu

Arrow Season Three: Corto Maltese

"My young apprentice"
The episode begins with Arrow chasing down a lead on Sara's death however it was a dead end but back at the Arrowcave Felicity tracks down Thea's location to Corto Maltese. Oliver and Roy decide to go and later Diggle when A.R.G.U.S has a missing agent named Mark Shaw there they want him to find. Meanwhile Laurel meets with Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez) owner of the Wildcat Gym about a crime involving one of his gym members, Ted denies this and then offers Laurel to come train because he notices her pent up anger. Oliver shows up at the house Thea is staying but leaves when she is not there however Malcolm was aiming an arrow at him in the distance, in a Flashback Malcolm begins to train Thea by pouring boiling water on his hand to show how to deal with pain. Oliver then finds Thea but she refuses to go back with him (even Roy tries talking to her later) while in Starling City Felcitiy is given a brand new office from Ray and asks her for all the files from the Applied Sciences Division. Oliver and Roy then decide to help Diggle with Shaw but they are lead into a trap by them however they manage to fight their way through it and Diggle completes his mission.

There is no better trainer than Wildcat
In Starling Laurel attends an AA meeting with Quentin and listens to the story of a woman beaten by her husband while in Corto Maltese Thea has a Flashback to where she failed the boiling water test so Malcolm came to the conclusion he is going easy on her and decided to hit her. Laurel then goes to beat up the wife beater however she is severely beaten up instead and while in the hospital Quentin says she was stupid for doing that and that Sara handles stuff like that (still not knowing she is dead). Oliver then talks to Thea once more, this time saying how both of their parent scarified themselves for them, which causes her to ask Malcolm if she can go home which he lets her. With everyone back in Starling Laurel approaches Oliver asking him to train her to be a vigilante however when he refuses she ask Ted, meanwhile at Queen Consolidated Felicity asks Ray for time off so she can visit a friend who woke up from a coma (Barry Allen) and Ray is seen going over certain blueprints. The episodes ends with Oliver and Roy discussing Thea but are interrupted by Nyssa Al Ghul who is looking for Sara.

"I think I'll stick with my gun thanks"
Looks like even Team Arrow likes to do some work outside of Starling City for once which is good because it is a welcome change for a different location. Thea was the main focus of this episode and I have to say she does have a nice haircut lol. Unfortunately one of the biggest problems this episode was the lack of the Thea/Malcolm relationship; a lot more screen time should have been given over to them, their Flashbacks and their training (all we got was the boiling water test!). However she did have some nice scenes with Roy and Oliver, especially the one where Oliver talks about their parents which was really well done. The other big problem with this episode was Diggle on his A.R.G.U.S mission and even though I like Diggle focused episodes I just don't like A.R.G.U.S that much except for their Suicide Squad. Maybe that is because I hate both Lyla and Waller so compared to the Thea/Malcolm subplot I honestly didn't care for Diggle's mission at all.

I wonder is Thea will be a Dark Archer soon?
As for everything else Laurel is still continuing to be an interesting character; her attempt at stopping a wife beater might have been a bit silly but it is a good character arc of her noticing the evils in the city and unlike Sara not being able to do anything about them. However looks like she might be able soon with the introduction of Ted Grant AKA Wildcat; a great hero in the comics who has trained many heroes such as Black Canary, Superman and Batman to name a few. It also looks like Ray really might be ATOM some time soon too with the look at those weapon blueprints he has been looking at so I am excited for more of that. All in all I think I more enjoyed the moments in Starling than I did in Corto Maltese if I'm honest. Finally looks like the League is coming back next episode now that Nyssa is back in town!

"I'm used to darkness not all this light an heat!"
Overall this is the weakest episode of season three so far because it's main storyline with Diggle's mission wasn't that good.

SCORE: 6/10

Highlights: A little insight to Thea's training with Malcolm
Laurel starting to become Black Canary and the introduction of Wildcat
Ray may also be ATOM soon

Let - Downs: Not enough background on Thea and Malcolm
Didn't care for the A.R.G.U.S mission

Arrow Season Two: Unthinkable

Super epic shot!!
The episode begins with Roy being cured but the clock tower is surrounded by Mirakuru soldiers however Lyla shows up to blow it up as Team Arrow escapes meanwhile Thea has shot Malcolm but he was wearing a vest and is proud she had the conviction to shoot him (something Tommy didn't have) however Thea leaves when she gets a call from Roy. At SCPD Laurel sees Sara talking to someone and is knocked out but it is revealed at the Arrowcave to be Nyssa and other League members who have agreed to help as long as Sara re-joins the League, Oliver agrees too but only if they use the cure. Team Arrow and the League fight Deathstroke and Ravager at Queen Consolidated; Nyssa kills Ravager however Deathstroke escapes, in a Flashback Slade is about to kill Oliver but Knyazev fires a torpedo at the boat before he is able to. At SCPD Laurel is kidnapped by a solider and when Team Arrow arrives Quentin says while he respects Arrow's no killing, Slade needs to die meanwhile Thea and Roy meet up and agree to runaway together but Roy gets a call from Arrow for help and decides to do that first. Oliver then hides Felcitiy at the Queen Manor because he says he loves her and doesn't want Slade to hurt her, elsewhere Diggle and Lyla free the Suicide Squad at A.R.G.U.S headquarters so they can stop Waller.

"Our last stand"
The League, Black Canary, Roy (who, equipped with a mask and bow, is now Red Arrow) and Arrow confront the Mirkuru army and fight and cure many of them meanwhile however Thea has found spare arrows at Roy's place which upsets her. Arrow then gets a call from Deathstroke saying he has Felicity and Laurel and forces him to chose when he gets to the location however it is then revealed Oliver discovered the cameras and purposely lied to Felicity in front of them so he can slip her the cure which she now uses on Slade. Arrow and Deathstroke fight while Flashbacks also show them fighting on the sinking boat, Sara is dragged under water which makes Oliver believe she died again however Slade is trapped when debris falls on him. Slade then threatens to find Oliver's family and kill them which forces him to put an arrow through Slade's eye (seemingly killing him) while in the present Arrow ties up Deathstroke with a trick arrow and choses not to kill him, Waller stops the missiles (while revealing Lyla is pregnant with Diggle's child). Later when Sara says her goodbyes Quentin collapses and spits up blood and Roy finds Thea missing who has gone off with Malcolm. Slade is then imprisoned back on the island in an A.R.G.U.S cell where Oliver leaves him but thanks him for teaching him how to fight. The episode ends in a Flashback and Oliver finds himself in Hong Kong and greeted by Waller.

So awesome!
Now this is a way to end the season!!! This episode was really action heavy to say the least which is how a hero series finale should be like. This was a fitting conclusion to the Arrow vs. Deathstroke arc and they had one of the most epic showdowns I have ever seen. Firstly Oliver's plan to cure Slade of Mirakuru was so damn smart because I really didn't expect it however super strength or not Deathstroke still proved to be quite the match for Arrow as they had their epic clash on the roof. The stunts, the fighting, the swordplay and arrows; it was all just what I wanted it to be but what was the best part about the showdown was the use of Flashbacks mirroring the fight in the present. That was so creative, so well done and Oliver stabbing Slade in the eye, now that was brutal! I also liked the trash talk between them at the beginning because Oliver did make a good point; Slade was mad and perverting Shado's memory. I am really glad that Oliver imprisoned Slade at the end because that means he could return in a future season which is a must, this series need Manu Bennett just as much as any of the other characters.

"So we're partners again Diggle old pal"
Another great thing about this episode was the return of Nyssa and the League because it is always epic when the League show up and Nyssa is just a sexy badass. They had a awesome clash against the Mirakuru army (epic entrance for Team Arrow) and a fight against Ravager; Nyssa can be damn cold snapping her neck like that. Isabel may have been a worthless character in the beginning but these last few episode she really grew on me as Ravager and that was a brutal way for her character to go and kind of what she deserves. Roy was a stand out because I have been waiting for him to be become Red Arrow/Aresenal for ages now and he finally got his bow, mask and kicked some ass. I hope this means that he will be a permanent addition to Team Arrow now and it looks like it since Thea has left to go with Malcolm.

"Yeeesh"
As for everything else while it was interesting Thea choosing to go with Malcolm, because this may really change her character, Malcolm himself was so underused again. He is one of my favourite characters, he was the only one to kill a Mirakuru solider without the cure, but he didn't play a large role in anything else. I also didn't like that it left on such anti - climatic moments such as Oliver being in Hong King and not really knowing how he got there, Sara going off with the League and most of all Quentin coughing up blood. Now that came completely out of nowhere and I wished it wasn't left so open ended mainly because this is the finale, I didn't want them to leave the results of that all the way until next season. Speaking of Sara she was way better in the episode than she than the last two but it is a shame that she is off with the League now because I would rather she remain a main character. Lastly I was great seeing Deadshot and the Suicide Squad again but they could have done more and Waller just continues to be an annoyance for me in the things she does and the way she acts. I mean she could have sent in the Suicide Squad to help Team Arrow (that would have been epic) but instead they are wasted because of her stupid missile plan.

"Miss me boys?"
Overall this was an awesome episode and season two overall has improved on a lot of things from season one and has been truly epic.

SCORE: 9/10

Highlights: Arrow vs. Deathstroke/Flashbacks
Return of Nyssa and the League
                   Roy as Red Arrow
                   So much action

Let - Downs: Malcolm again was underused
The Suicide Squad was underused and Waller was just stupid
The fate of Quentin left unknown

Arrow Season Two: Streets of Fire

"Thea, I am your father"
The episode begins immediately after the last one however Arrow escapes the collapsed tunnel when Laurel uses an explosive arrow and Diggle and Felicity escape from Ravager when the latter runs into her with a truck, meanwhile the city is still being destroyed by the Mirakuru army. In a Flashback Oliver leaves to save Sara and tells Knyazev to escape if he is not back in time, in the present Thea is saved when Malcolm arrives as Dark Archer. The S.T.A.R labs truck is then destroyed in the chaos so Team Arrow races there to get the cure while at SCPD Quentin kills the solider then manages to convince the cops to work with Arrow and he is made a detective again. Laurel is then saved by Black Canary on her way to SCPD, Sebastian begins to have doubts after seeing so much death and when Malcolm kills the Mirakuru soldier so he asks Thea to come with him. Sebastian then visits Slade and says the plan was to make him Mayor so he can improve Starling after some destruction however Slade says the total destruction of Starling was his plan all along, meanwhile Laurel bonds more with Sara when she reassures her by saying she is a hero.

"I am altering our deal Blood, pray I don't alter it any further"
In a Flashback Oliver and Sara are captured by Slade and in the present the cure is stolen by a Mirakuru solider. At the clock tower where Roy is held Oliver says it is his fault this has happened however Felicity manages to give him confidence and says Slade is still out there meanwhile Sara saves a child from a burning building in front of Quentin who says she is a hero. Arrow and Diggle then go to Sebastian's office (after getting a call from him says he we give them the cure), there he says he made his skull mask because he feared his father as a child and that all he did he did for Starling City. He also says that he will still lead the city after this destruction and warns Oliver he will expose his secret if he exposes his however when Arrow and Diggle leave with the cure Isabel stabs Sebastian; Sebastian dies after declaring his love for the city and dropping his skull mask. Oliver injects Roy with the cure and then gets a call from Waller who says she will launch missile strikes on the city to stop Slade. The episode ends with Thea pointing a gun at Malcolm.

Someone should have told you; you don't mess with the Dark Archer!
This series sure knows how to make a great three part finale and there is still one more episode left! Firstly we got the return as Malcolm in his Dark Archer costume which was just awesome to see and his fight with the solider, where he used trick arrows now, was great. I thought he would appear sooner or later since Moira is now dead and it is to persuade the only family he has left to join him. Thea has got quite the dilemma here because Malcolm may have committed a few murderous acts but this may be her opportunity to really break free of the Queen Family which she has just became so tired of because of their lies. Unfortunately while the return of Malcolm was great he was so underused; his fight should have lasted longer and maybe he should have gone out into the city to confront Oliver. As for the events at the SCPD Quentin really had a moment to shine when he gave his speech to the cops about Arrow (great scene) and how he dispatched the solider. As for Quentin's daughter's Laurel was good because of how she used the bow and arrow to escape but I didn't get why she wandered the streets alone. As for Sara though she did fight and save people I am still not buying her whole "I'm a killer" mood she is in after being a hero already with helping Team Arrow.

If she spent long in there we could have had fried canary..........lol
The biggest highlight of the episode however was Sebastian who has been a great character since his debut and he went out a great character. Sebastian truly cared for the city more than anything else and in his own way try to help it - his intentions where good but he chose to do bad things to realize them. We also got some more backstory on the mask, which was good because he didn't wear it just because it's creepy, and the moment he threatened Oliver was great too. In the end it was a great way for his character to go because he did redeem himself slight because he wanted to save Starling City.

"I might not be a vigilante but I'm still taking you down!"
As for everything else the action was truly top notch in this; everything from how the destruction looks in Starling City to the fights with the Mirakuru army. Diggle and Felicity also where great as well such as their fight with Ravager (funny when Felicity hit her with the truck) to when Felicity gave her pep talk to Oliver in the clock tower. As for the Flashbacks they where way to short though Knyazev was good in it and I hope his relationship is expanded sometime in more Flashbacks since Oliver must have meet him again during the five years because of his tattoo and Russian connections. Finally there was the appearance of Waller who again I just do not like and I didn't like her missile strike at the end. So far she has just done some really stupid things in this series which just creates unnecessary problems.

Goodbye Sebastian
Overall this could have been worthy of being a finale episode by itself but we still have one more.

SCORE: 8/10

Highlights: Return of Malcolm
                   Sebastian
                   Great action and character moments

Let - Downs: Waller and Sara
                       Malcolm was underused
                       Flashbacks

Arrow Season Two: City of Blood

Enter Ravager
The episode begins with Moira's funeral but Oliver is absent and Sebastian being sworn in as Mayor, later Walter attempts to comfort Thea who is mad Oliver never warned them of Slade and Isabel threatens Diggle and Felicity at the reception. In a Flashback the group go to the submarine in an effort to repair it, in the present Laurel brings up her mistrust of Sebastian again to Quentin and his possible connection to Slade. Diggle then gets help from Waller to track down Oliver and Isabel says to Thea she will shut down The Verdant since she owns it along with the company. Laurel then later plants a bug on Sebastian's desk and she and Quentin use it to hack his files and find a speech on Moira's passing written before her death. In a Flashback the group finds out someone will have to sacrifice themselves in a torpedo to free themselves, back in the present Diggle and Felicity find Oliver in a backup Arrowcave, one he kept secret. Oliver admits he should have cured Slade instead of killing him back on the island  and says he will hand himself over to him, of course Diggle is against it and Felicity is distraught. Oliver meets with Thea who wants to leave Starling City which Oliver thinks is for the best and in a Flashback the priest named Peter offers to sacrifice himself because the radiation poisoning Ivo gave him is killing him anyway.

"I volunteer the one who isn't even in the present"
Oliver is then captured by Diggle, Felicity and Laurel who talk him into being Arrow again and he gets more motivated when Laurel reveals Sebastian is working with Slade. In a Flashback Peter is successful freeing the sub and in the present Oliver and Sebastian have dinner where they both reveal their identities while Felicity gets the location of the Mirakuru army from one of Sebastian's bodyguards. Arrow infiltrates the sewers where Brother Blood is addressing the Mirakuru army while above ground Diggle and Felicity plant explosives. Laurel then helps Arrow take out one of the soldiers while Diggle deals with Isabel who wearing her altered costume and is now Ravager. Diggle holds Ravager off but has to get away before denoting the explosives and Arrow is forced to trap himself and Laurel in the tunnel when more soldiers approach them. Several soldiers are already causing havoc in the city; one infiltrated the police station and is massacring them while another is shooting up the train station where Thea is. The episode ends in a Flashback and Oliver hears Sara panic over the radio (because she was outside it) and in the present the Mirakuru army are making their way to the city.

Damn!
The first part of the finale for Arrow Season Two (like season one I feel the finale is really spread over the last three episodes) and was it a hell of a great start. The first part of the episode deals with the aftermath of Moira's death and it was so good; we had Walter back, Thea decided to leave Starling City and Oliver was more distraught than ever. Oliver looked more defeated than he ever has before and it was just great seeing him deal with it, going to surrender himself and then finding his resolve again. Another stand out was Sebastian who is so convincing as a good guy despite being a bad guy but is so menacing when he dons his mask and becomes Brother Blood. Plus the dinner scene he had that Oliver was great as well because of the tension between the two, each one mocking the other, it was just so cool.

Arrow vs. Brother Blood
Other standouts where Diggle and Felicity because they both some great moment of their own such as Felicity when she broke down after Oliver says he is surrendering but then later totally owned that bodyguard with her computer. Plus it was just great seeing Team Arrow give confidence to Oliver again because once again it proves how important they all are to Arrow. Of course Diggle proves he is just as capable as any costumed hero or villain by taking on Ravager and I will say again that Diggle deserves his own damn costume!! As for Isabel she continues to be a far more better character in these final episodes such as her awesome Ravager costume and the cool fight she had with Diggle.

"Too bad we don't have Felicity for this computer work"
As for everything else we had some great fights like the one Ravager vs. Diggle and Arrow facing the solider and we got a look at how much destruction just two soldiers are causing already which make me excited for the next episode. Thea had a nice moment with Oliver as well because at least they reconciled at the end and it showed that Oliver is ready to just let his sister go now. Laurel, like Isabel, is better in these final episode such as following Arrow in the sewer or earlier when he helped the doubtful Oliver. The only things that felt out of place this episode was the Flashbacks because did it really need a situation where one had to sacrifice themselves? Since we know it wasn't going to be Oliver, Sara or even Knyazev so there was no tension or sense of dread.

"All bow before Brother Blood"
Overall this was an awesome start to the finale and sets up a truly epic clash in the streets of Starling City.

SCORE: 9/10

Highlights: Oliver and Sebastian
Great action like Ravager vs. Diggle
Such emotional moments from everyone in the aftermath of Moira's death

Let - Downs: Flashbacks
