Suicide Squad Trailer Breakdown

Back with another trailer breakdown for the upcoming Suicide Squad film however with this one it is really hard to guess what the story is going to be about so this will really be my thoughts on several of the scenes.

Jared Leto's Joker: Was absolutely damn creepy; his voice, the close up and the line he delivered was so awesome. I really think Leto has nailed it as the Joker and I wish people would stop going on about his tattoos. This is just a different look for him in the new DC franchise I am sure he will still act as the Joker we all know and love from the comics.

The Joker torturing someone: My guess is that it is either Harley Quinn or Jason Todd because the film is going to have flashbacks for several or all of the characters. The reason it could be Harley is because I have seen set photos where she is still Harleen so this could be the Joker transforming her into Harley but it could be Jason because Batman is going to appear in the film's flashbacks as well.

Origins: Like I mentioned above it looks like we will get flashbacks on several villains and while that is good I do hope it lasts no longer than a few minutes because I don't want the whole film to be one massive origin story.

The Squad: It was awesome seeing the whole squad together, I don't have anything bad to say about them because their costumes are just so perfect. Well if I had to say one thing is that I wish there was more Captain Boomerang because he is my favourite Squad member.

How Killer Croc gets captured: In the trailer it shows someone wearing a hardhat with a light attached to it in a very dark place. Now this is just my guess but I think it is going to be someone who gets attacked by Killer Croc in the sewer and we see how he gets captured.

Katana commits seppukku: I don't know about anyone else but to me it looks like she is trying to impale herself on her sword in the trailer. I'm not too worried about this because her sword does have special powers to either make her survive it or bring her back.

The costumed robbers: I actually have no idea how these will fit into the film because it is not like the squad is tasked with stopping normal robbers however the one wearing the Batman costume was funny.

That is it really, unlike the Batman vs. Superman trailer it is hard to guess what is going on because it hasn't really revealed anything about the plot.

Arrow Season Two: Suicide Squad

Oh yeah the Suicide Squad!

The episode starts with Oliver having a nightmare about Shado so next morning he uses his Bravta connections for information on Slade however he insults them in the process, Diggle is then seen protecting Felicity from possible attacks and he is still in a relationship again with Lyla. Waller then meets them at their hotel and wants the two of them to go on a mission to retrieve a nerve agent from arms dealer Gholem Qadir who, it is revealed in several Flashbacks, Diggle, Lyla and Ted Gaynor saved his life in Afghanistan. Diggle and Lyla meet their backup on the mission; Task Force X AKA Suicide Squad whose members are Deadshot, Bronze Tiger and Shrapnel, meanwhile Arrow stops two criminals while Deathstroke looks on and leaves his old mask for Arrow to find. Diggle meets Qadir at an auction while the Suicide Squad backs him up and while there Diggle saves Qadir's life because Deadshot fakes assassinating him however Shrapnel is killed when he tries to escape with the bomb in his head exploding. This later angers Diggle but he is invited to a party Qadir is having for saving his life.

"Awww crap I'm screwed"

In Starling City Arrow finds Slade's hideout but only his dead Bravta contact is there meanwhile at the part Diggle, Lyla, Deadshot and Bronze Tiger infiltrate the party. Deadshot finds the nerve agent so Waller orders him to stay put while she orders a drone strike and that the rest of the team should leave however Diggle instead warns the party. Qadir then finds Lyla but is killed by Bronze Tiger and Diggle manages to convince Deadshot to leave by reminding him of his daughter Zoey. The team also manages to avoid the strike by taking out Deadshot's bomb which was a beacon for it, they get away but Waller is angry because of the failed strike. Bronze Tiger and Deadshot return to their cells and Diggle reassures Deadshot he could get out soon however Deadshot is sceptical. The episode ends with it revealing that Waller and Oliver know each other and Oliver asking for information which Waller then does by showing him footage of Deathstroke.

Finally we get the Suicide Squad which I have been looking forward to ever since Waller said it to Bronze Tiger and it did not disappoint. This was also a Diggle focused episode which is always good because the guy just deserve more in this series, a costume and name to start with! It was good seeing Deadshot again because he and Diggle have an interesting work relationship now because even though Deadshot killed his brother Diggle is starting to understand and sympathise more with the sniper now. For example how he talked him out of being blown up; I think Diggle doesn't blame Deadshot anymore he blames H.I.V.E (which we still haven't seen yet) and I guess working together on missions creates a bit of a bond. Bronze Tiger is still as badass as ever and still one of my favourite villains, it was even good seeing Shrapnel again so he can get his head blown off lol. I kind of wish their mission could have been more action packed instead of infiltrating a party but I blame that on Qadir because he was a really underdeveloped villain and we don't even know how he went from terrorist in Afghanistan to rich guy throwing parties. As always Waller continues to annoyed me because I just do not like her or the casting for her; they haven't done her comic counterpart justice in my opinion. Plus I don't really like Lyla either if I am honest, I know she is Diggle's love interest but I'm just not bothered about her.

"Behind a scope is where I belong"

As for the rest of the episode I liked the moment with Diggle protecting Felicity at the beginning because it shows how much Team Arrow cares for one another, nice scene. Arrow's subplot was also really cool because I just love the way Slade is just toying with him and leading him on a wild goose chase. We also see that Oliver and Waller know each other which is probably going to be explained in more Flashbacks sooner or later and even though I hate Waller I do want to know more of this connection. Lastly I like the appearance of Ted Gaynor once again but more than that the cameo of Harley Quinn! I hope this means that we see her next time in the Suicide Squad because she is one of it's famous members in the comics and one of DC's popular characters overall. I do hope that next time the Suicide Squad is the focus that they get more members and if Diggle gets more involved then I think it would be great if he is the Arrow TV series version of Unknown Solider who is a member of the Suicide Squad in the comics. I think this could work because Unknown Solider is a character shrouded in mystery and they don't even have to use any of his comic backstory; just have Diggle dress up similar to him and give him the name.

Your famous Deathstroke!

Overall great introduction to the Suicide Squad and I hope we get at least one or two episodes focusing on them per season.

Arrow Season Two: Keep Your Enemies Closer

You should call this episode Diggle, not Arrow

The episode begins with Felicity interrupting a meeting Oliver is having with Isabel because Roy has contacted them with information on counterfeit plates. Oliver gets there as Arrow however Roy is unable to stop himself from helping and is arrested and Diggle is abducted by an unknown group. Turns out Diggle was kidnapped by A.R.G.U.S and Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) wants him to rescue Lyla who is being held in a Russian cell while tracking Deadshot meanwhile Quentin lets Roy go because of his involvement with Arrow. When Diggle announces his plan to go to Russia Oliver and Felicity decide to help as well and at the airport Isabel invites herself. In a Flashback Sara advises Oliver to give a fake name and when Ivo arrives he says he is at the island to retrieve a super - solider serum the Japanese where working on called Mirakuru and wants Oliver to help find it. In Russia Isabel is angry believing Oliver is using a company jet to be with Felicity later Oliver and Diggle meet with Oliver's old friend Knyazev for help in getting into the Gulag Lyla is in, Diggle then reveals Lyla is his ex - wife.

"Now what shall we talk about Mr Queen?"

Diggle gets himself arrested so he can be sent to the Gulag and in a Flashback it is revealed Slade and Shado are alive but Slade his badly burned. In the Gulag Diggle gets into a fight with one of the prisoners and is sent to the freezer and chained up along with Deadshot meanwhile Isabel and Oliver bond more. One of the guards releases Diggle so he can rescue Lyla however Deadshot kills him so he can be involved in the escape plan, outside Oliver, Felicity and Knyazev stand by to help out. In a Flashback Sara leads Oliver to the radio room who confirms Slade and Shado are alive however she is forced to sever the connection when Ivo arrives. Deadshot leads Diggle to Lyla and they escape when Oliver sets off explosives, Diggle reluctantly lets Deadshot go but Deadshot then says it was an organization called H.I.V.E that wanted his brother dead. Back home Diggle thanks Oliver and Felicity then starts to research H.I.V.E and in prison Moira urges Thea to get together with Roy; Thea having broken up with him earlier because the lawyer said he would hurt her mother's image. The episode ends in a Flashback and Sara has convinced Ivo to spare Oliver life as long as he leads them to the skeletons he found earlier.

Wonder if he would have done it if Deadshot didn't help him?

Finally this season we got a Diggle centred episode that we needed and it was a great and something different from what we have had so far. What I mean is that we actually got to get out of Starling City and Diggle had to go undercover himself to rescue Lyla. We also got the reunion between Diggle and Deadshot and it was great seeing those two characters confront each other again and Diggle proved more honourable than I thought in letting Deadshot go. However it seems Diggle may soon get even more of a story to work with as Deadshot mentioned the H.I.V.E organization which also exists in the comics, hopefully they will play a major role soon. I did like everything else in Russian such as a change to a snowy setting and that Knyazev from the Flashbacks is there, I'm really interested in seeing how he got off the Amazo now. However what I didn't like in the Russia moments was the forced love triangle between Isabel, Felicity and Oliver because it was kind of silly and even though I'm sure Isabel has a larger role to play she felt kind of pointless here.

Pick a fight Diggle, you need to build some cred

As for everything else I was also disappointed in Waller in this, her character and her casting. She doesn't come across as the intimidating and commanding individual she is in the comics and in fact she looks more like a secretary than anything else; I'm just not feeling that Robinson was the right choice at all with the stuff I just mentioned. I also didn't care that much for the Roy and Thea moments because it was just them basically breaking up and getting back together and they did that last season. However the Flashbacks where really great and I feel like we are making some progress finally and that is when Ivo talked about the super - solider serum. I was really glad when he said that because this is the kind of thing I wanted to in season one, if they do feature super - soldiers it will make this seem more like the comics. Plus since Slade an Shado are revealed to still be alive maybe we will get some cool rescue operation for Oliver.

"You trying to cosplay as me kid? Cause you haven't even got the colour right"

Overall I enjoyed that Diggle got the spotlight and we got some great action with him and scenes with Deadshot, however it should have focused more on them because I feel that it was a slight let down after how awesome the last episode was and now that Sara has left.

Arrow Season One: Home Invasion

"47 has got nothing on me!"

The episode begins with Team Arrow planning how to take down Deadshot who is back in Starling City to complete a contract, in a Flashback Slade and Shado are arguing how to use Oliver to rescue Yao Fei. In the present Laurel is representing the Moore family who are suing corrupt businessman Edward Ramus, unfortunately a hitman called Mr Blank (J. August Richards) kills the husband and wife but their child gets away. Laurel then agrees to take care of the boy until his next of kin arrive and in a Flashback Shado teaches Oliver how to use a bow. Roy later steals a police radio when trying to find out more about The Hood and Mr Blank later tries to kill Laurel, Tommy and the boy at Laurel's apartment but the three are saved by The Hood, Tommy then grudgingly suggests Laurel and the boy stay at Oliver's for now. Later Oliver decides not to help Diggle kill Deadshot at a mall and instead goes after Ramus, Diggle tires to kill Deadshot on his own but is almost killed himself. At the Arrowcave an angry Diggle quits the team after Oliver was not there for him and for always putting Laurel first even when he really shouldn't.

Diggle could really use  costume now

In a Flashback Oliver is getting better with a bow and is also getting closer to Shado meanwhile in the present Laurel is thankful to Oliver for what he has done. At the SCPD Mr Blank kills Ramus while posing as his lawyer and Thea convinces Quentin to let Roy go after he was arrested earlier for stealing the radio but then later decides to help Roy to find The Hood. Mr Blank then sneaks into Queen Manor to eliminate all of the witnesses however he is killed by Oliver in a fight and the boy is later given safely to his next of kin. The episode ends with Tommy leaving Laurel, believing he cannot compete with Oliver if she finds out he is The Hood and in a Flashback Yao Fei has brought Fyer's soldiers to the hideout seemingly betraying them.

"Flying punch attack!"

This episode was the final one before the major end - of - series events take place, so you could say this is a mix bag, good but overall not important. You could say this because the plot for it's main story is simple and generic; a hitman going after a witness that needs protecting. I did like Mr Blank because the guy was a cold badass even if he wasn't fleshed out but everything else about the story just wasn't that exciting. This is probably because knowing what is going to happen in the next three episode there was no need to put in any over the top fight, stunts or crazy villain plots. I did like that Tommy is once again distancing himself from everything to do with Oliver and that includes breaking up with Laurel thinking he can't measure up to Oliver. Tommy is just such a likable guy in the series and it is sad seeing how everything just seems to be against him right now.

Yao Fei how could you!?

Now what I found more exciting then the main story was the subplots, especially the one involving Diggle. As I thought Deadshot is going to be Diggle's main enemy throughout the series and will continue to remain thanks to Oliver. I really have to agree with Diggle that Oliver selfishly puts Laurel first before anything else, it is slightly annoying like how he is blind to his mom's involvement in The Undertaking. I don't think Diggle will be gone for long but it is Oliver who defiantly has to do the apologizing here. We also have Roy who is obsessed with finding The Hood and Thea helping him which is good because it gives Thea a better storyline and Roy is supposed to be The Hood's partner one day.

You really know how to scare the crap out of kids Quentin

Overall because of the three episode arc after this, this episode didn't really feel too significant and mostly felt like filler. However it has some good subplots and character development involving Diggle and Tommy.

Arrow Season One: Unfinished Business

"Go right ahead, prove your no better than I am"

The episode begins with a young woman dying just outside the Verdant (Oliver's club) and when Quentin questions Oliver and Tommy about it they find out she died from Vertigo. Quentin and The Hood both go visit The Count however he is in no fit state for questioning since he is still suffering from the affects of a over dose of Vertigo. In a Flashback Slade and Yao Fei's daughter Shado (Celina Jade) are sparing but Oliver still can't get over his deal with Fyers not working meanwhile in the present Diggle is upset that Deadshot is still at large. It is later revealed that The Count has escaped from the mental hospital and that a new stronger Vertigo is hitting the streets meanwhile Quentin questions Tommy because he received a text from the victim before she died. In a Flashback Shado begins to train Oliver while in the present he stops a Vertigo deal while Diggle asks A.R.G.U.S agent Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson) for information on Deadshot. Tommy is later still followed by Quentin who then gets a warrant for the Verdant, luckily all the stuff in the Arrowcave was moved ahead of time however Tommy later quits because of how Oliver suspected him of selling Vertigo.

They are fighting right?

The Hood then tracks down where the new Vertigo is being made and finds The Count strapped to a chair and is soon knocked out by a Dr Wells who worked a the mental hospital. It is revealed Wells created the new Vertigo and faked The Count's escape because he knew the police would suspect him. He then forces The Hood to drink the Vertigo who then activates an explosive arrow and then Diggle arrives to help out. The Hood then kills Wells by firing three arrows in to his chest but has to be talked out of killing The Count by Diggle. In a Flashback Shado begins to teach Oliver how to use a bow while in the present Quentin admits to Laurel he owes Tommy and Oliver an apology. The episode ends with Diggle wanting Oliver's help to take down Deadshot while Tommy asks his father for a job at Merlyn Global Group, which Malcolm agrees to while embracing him.

Nothing to be ashamed of Oliver, from what I have read in comics every hero gets captured at least once in their career

Looks like we got the return of Vertigo but I knew it couldn't stay away for long since it is named after a villain, we also go the return of The Count in a way. I did really like the twist that they pulled at the end of this episode that The Count was only being used by Wells but I didn't really like Wells because he was nothing more than a throwaway villain. I still liked almost everything else to do with Vertigo such as a stronger one being made, The Hood stopping the drug deal and the showdown at the end where Diggle came and helped. However one thing I didn't like was Quentin thinking Tommy was behind the overdose of the victim; now that his ex wife is gone he is back to his overzealous police work and I admit it does get annoying some times. For example when he was trying to catch The Hood by bugging the phone, then being a hypocrite and asking The Hood for help or kind of when he was so convinced it was Oliver he didn't listen to no one else to the point that even Laurel gets angry with him like this episode.

"Wells The Count's cell mate Myers didn't tell us anything"

Tommy however still continues to be a great character because I liked the conflict he had with both Quentin and Oliver. As I said above Quentin can be an ass but at least Tommy never backed down from him of allowed himself to be intimidated. It is also interesting now that Tommy has ended his friendship with Oliver but it kind of felt like the right thing to do since Oliver didn't fully trust him over the Vertigo incident and he just can't take his best friend being The Hood anymore. Tommy always seems to have some great material to work with and proves that he is a better person than Oliver or Quentin but now that he is working for his father I wonder if he will become involved in The Undertaking?

"I guess my dad's the only good person in Starling City"

As for everything else the Flashbacks are still going strong and we probably have seen the beginning of Oliver being a master archer and the water pressing technique was interesting. It also seems that Diggle will be getting more of a subplot because of Deadshot and I got the feeling these two are going to be connected for a while. Plus I really liked the mention of A.R.G.U.S in this episode because when I first heard that I thought of Amanda Waller and when I think of her I think of the Suicide Squad! I know that this is still early but if we get to see more of A.R.G.U.S and then opens the possibility of the characters and villains that are associated with it.

"Why don't they do their deals in the day? Doing this s**t is dangerous at night!"

Overall this was a good episode but felt really short because of the absence of such characters like Moira, Thea and Roy.

Arrow Season One: Dead to Rights

"I never miss"

The episode begins with a hitman arriving by helicopter however he is quickly killed by The Hood, at the Arrowcave Diggle trains Felicity so she can defend herself more but Oliver soon arrives and asks her to hack the hitman's phone. We then have a Flashback and Oliver has gotten a radio to work but they can't send transmit ions, in the present Felicity discovers a protected hit - list and Oliver warns  Quentin about it however Quentin wants a name. Later Malcolm tries to patch things up with Tommy and Laurel convinces him to go to his award ceremony elsewhere China White hires Deadshot to kill Malcolm. Oliver then tries to find the Chinese Triad are targeting Malcolm and then calls Quentin about it, Laurel then gets a call from her mother but doesn't answer. Everyone attends the ceremony, even China White as a guest and her Triad who are waiters.

"Your just practise hitman"

At the ceremony the Triad have turned off the power but Malcolm rushes up stairs with Tommy who is stunned when he takes out several pursers. Oliver arrives as The Hood and fights China White but ends it when McKenna almost has the drop on him, elsewhere in the building Malcolm is shot several times by Deadshot who is sniping from another building. Though Malcolm was wearing a vest the bullets are coated with poison, The Hood gets there and convinces Tommy to give his father a blood transfusion by revealing his identity to him. After Tommy is questioned by Quentin but says he doesn't know who The Hood is, in a Flashback Slade and Oliver hear Fyers talking about a monster over the radio and they later find out it is a missile launcher. At the hospital Diggle is upset that Deadshot is still alive and Malcolm says to Moira that he suspects there is a traitor, not knowing it is her. Tommy later tells Oliver, after talking with his father, that he will keep is secret however he is not happy about it or that Oliver is The Hood. The episode ends with Laurel's mother Dinah Lance (Alex Kingston) arriving at her apartment and telling her she thinks Sara is still alive.

Shame, this part easily could have had a panty shot

I knew that Deadshot was still alive and now he has his trademark missing right eye and special eye piece that goes over it. Really glad that Deadshot is back because they couldn't have killed him after one episode and the fact that Diggle knows he is back too makes me think that these two are going to have some conflict in future episodes. I really liked the team up of him and China White; that is what we should have in future episodes, several villains who have lost to The Hood team up to try and take him down. China White was also good in this as well and I really liked the whole attack on the ceremony by her Triads and she had a really good fight against The Hood. It is a shame though that Malcolm never got in to his Dark Archer gear to battle Deadshot because that would have been cool however he still kicked some ass and that scene where he almost grabs his costume was great.

"I plan to destroy you all and you award me HAHAHA!"

Tommy is also continuing to be a great character; it looks like he has repaired the relationship with his father but his one with Oliver is now damaged. As I said before I really like the moments between Tommy and Malcolm and this episode I think is an example that the two still care for each other despite recent conflict between them. As for his one with Oliver, Tommy has made it clear before that he doesn't like The Hood and finding out that it is Oliver probably did hurt him. I think for now he will keep the secret but I have no doubt that will be getting to him over time and he may even hate Oliver. Heck he may even become another Dark Archer like he is in the comics if he and Malcolm are getting along now, kind of like the Osborn's with the Green Goblin lol.

"So, keep my identity secret for me?" 

As for everything else in the episode I am interested to know what Moira will now do about The Undertaking; since Malcolm suspects a traitor she is going to have to be extra careful. We also have Oliver and McKenna still going on with their relationship but I don't care much for that because I never for a second thought this would lead anywhere. A big reveal at the end was that Dinah thinks Sara is still alive and I guess will we see what evidence she has to support it next episode. However when I first saw this I thought Dinah was forced too much into the plot; we haven't seen or barely mentioned her for this long and now she introduced with this revelation, they could have built up to it a bit more. As for the Flashbacks things are starting to look bad for Slade and Oliver now that Fyers has a missile launcher, does he plan on bombing the island for them?

Overall this was a good and even though I won't mark it down for this I wish that Malcolm could have been the Dark Archer again.

Arrow Season One: An Innocent Man

"I'll join if I get a costume"

The episode begins where the last one left off with Diggle waking up and finding out that Oliver is The Hood. Oliver asks him to join him in his fight to help Starling City but he refuses, believing Oliver to just be a murderer and walks off. Oliver then meets Laurel at his manor who gives him a lecture which causes him to have a Flashback to him back at the cave and the hooded man sees him looking at pictures in his wallet. In the present Oliver and Thea manage to bond again but while watching the news Oliver discovers a connection between Peter Declan, a death row inmate, and Jason Brodeur, one of the men on his list, in the morning Oliver is shocked to find out Diggle has quit. Oliver is then seen making new arrows in his hideout while investigating that Declan is accused of killing his wife.

"I like to think of this as my art"

At night Oliver, as The Hood, visits Laurel and convinces her that Declan was set up and Brodeur is the guilty one; Laurel then visits Iron Heights in the morning and believes Declan is innocent. Meanwhile Quentin tries to convince Laurel to drop the Declan case while Walter becomes suspicious of Moira and thinks she knows more of the Queen's Gambit. Oliver later visits Diggle at his sister - in - law's restaurant to convince him it join him and manages to get to Diggle by saying that Deadshot was the one who killed his brother. Later Laurel then contacts The Hood and says that she needs more evidence and Oliver manages to get more by threatening Declan's former supervisor on why Declan was framed meanwhile Walter enlists the help of Felicity to find out more about the Queen's Gambit. We then have a Flashback to when the hooded man tells Oliver he must kill an animal for food and back in the present The Hood tells Laurel that Declan is definitely innocent.

"Everyone else hogs the screen time, I say we take some"

Laurel then tries to get Declan released but still doesn't have enough information and is even stopped by Brodeur and Quentin, she tells The Hood about this. Oliver then visits Brodeur and finds out of a plan to kill Declan and Laurel during a "prison breakout" which is happening now. Oliver manages to save them both as a masked prison guard but has to be stopped from killing someone by Laurel, we then have a Flashback where Oliver does manage to kill an animal. Later Walter finds the remains of the Queen's Gambit with Felicity's help and Quentin sees security footage of Oliver retrieving The Hood costume the night he fought Deadshot. The episode ends with Moira meeting a man named Malcolm (John Barrowman) and Diggle agreeing to work for Oliver again and help him but Oliver is soon arrested by Quentin for being The Hood.

Seems like Oliver's identity may be revealed to the public soon and after only 4 episodes lol. I admit that ending was quite a surprise because I just didn't expect it and I wonder how Oliver is going to get out of this one. It is possible that he has some plans for his new ally Diggle because if he is in a holding cell next episode than having someone on the outside could help. Speaking of Diggle I am really glad that he has come round to accepting Oliver as The Hood and I hope this means that if Oliver manages to convince everyone is isn't The Hood that he will help take out the bad guys. Also it was interesting hearing that Deadshot killed Diggle's brother and that is another reason why Deadshot has to be alive; there just has to be a confrontation between these characters.

"Don't you touch my fries!"

As for the rest of the episode I liked that Felicity is back (everyone just seems to give her their IT problems) because you just can't help but like her and I'm glad she is helping Walter because it gives these two character's their own subplot. I wonder how Moira will react when she finds out about this and I wonder what part Malcolm plays in all of this. I think Thea was a lot better in this episode because she was more of the helpful little sister in this and was there more for Oliver when he needed her. Also the Flashbacks was really good because I like how Oliver could barely bring himself to kill an animal for food yet had to be stopped from killing someone in the present. This kind of shows that Oliver is used to the killing by now and the experiences on the island has dulled of impact of taking a human life.

How is he going to get out of this one

Lastly while I think that the whole "prison breakout" scene was awesome and The Hood kicked some serious ass, after including Deadshot in the last episode I was disappointed that we didn't get to see another comic villain. I guess I shouldn't expect to see a comic villain in every episode and it probably is better that way because we just can't have one every time. This does lower the excitement slightly however because unlike Deadshot I don't think these corrupt businessmen on his list pose much of a problem for Oliver at all.

Overall this was a good episode; the excitement has died down from the aftermath of Deadshot but I am glad we learned more about Diggle and Oliver is sure going to be in trouble next episode.

"I'm the worlds greatest sniper kid, you haven't got a chance"

The episode begins with Oliver training and finding out information on the next millionaire on his list, James Holden. He manages to track him down but Holden is killed soon after by a sniper and Oliver is injured as well. We then have a Flashback and Oliver has been brought into a cave by the hooded figure who shot him but the man then begins to treat Oliver's wound. The next day at the crime scene Quentin comes to the conclusion that The Hood wasn't the one who killed Holden.


"I guess this was my bad"

Oliver uses his computer to find out that the sniper who killed Holden goes by the codename Deadshot by researching similar assassinations, it then cuts to a man tattooing Holden's name onto his body where we see the names of many others. Later Oliver talks to Tommy about turning the warehouse he showed him earlier into a club (unknown to Tommy it is above his hideout) and then goes back to Holden's assassination and retrieves a fragment of Deadshot's bullet. He then uses his contacts in Solntsevskaya Bratva to learn Deadshot's true identity which is Floyd Lawton (Michael Rowe). Quentin then arrives at Queen Mansion to try and convince Walter that the killer could be targeting potential stock buyers of Unidac Industries, something that he is involved with.



"This hitman can bring it on!"

That night at a club Oliver runs into Thea who has sneaked out after being grounded and drunkenly tells him that Tommy and Laurel slept together when he was away. We then have another Flashback and Oliver has tried to escape from the hooded man but is soon caught in a wooden cage. Later while talking with Tommy, Oliver gets the location of Deadshot but is too late to stop him escaping however he finds a bullet riddled laptop and gives it to Queen Consolidated employee Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) to retrieve information out of it. Felicity does and gets blueprints of the building Walter is attempting to bid on Unidac Industries and even enlists the help of Quentin before going to attend the bidding. Oliver then suits up later in a stairwell and stops Deadshot by putting an arrow in his eye, we then have another Flashback of the hooded man helping Oliver out of the cage before commandos with guns arrive. The episode ends with Oliver revealing his identity to Diggle who he was forced to knock earlier when he followed him.

Now that's going to leave a mark

Only the third episode yet we get the appearance of one of the most well known DC villains ever; Deadshot, the world greatest sniper. I think he was portrayed almost perfectly in this because firstly he has a great costume that looks similar to his comic counterpart, minus his mask, and he has he wrist mounted guns which is one of his most iconic weapons. Plus the fight between him and Oliver was just so awesome and done really well. I honestly don't think that he is dead (not just saying that because I have seen the rest of the series) because you can't just kill off a villain like Deadshot in his first appearance and you don't find out what happens to his body or if the police confirms he is dead. However whether he is alive or not I kind of wished they developed his character a bit more because we barely got to know him besides he tattoos his body with his victim's names and he barely spoke too.

I also liked the Flashback because we find out that the guy in the hood is a good guy and probably shot at Oliver by accident. We also get a look at some commandos as well that the hooded guy wanted to avoid; obviously this island isn't abandoned, might be used by a terrorist organization? Back in the present I was surprised that Oliver revealed his identity to Diggle but I guess he had to sooner or later, can't wait for Diggle's reaction in the next episode. Also I liked that Oliver is going to turn the warehouse in to a club, won't make it so suspicious that he keeps going there and I am interested in finding out how he got some foreign contacts? Lastly we get the introduction to Felicity; a great character for those who have read my Flash reviews and I'll talk about her more when she plays a bigger role because it was short in this episode.

Bet you didn't see this coming Diggle

Overall this episode was better than the last one because the used a more well known comic villain but Thea really let it down because of the stupid things she continues to do; her attitude when brought in by cops, grounded but then going partying, telling Oliver about Tommy and Laurel while drunk etc. I just wished they came up with a better story for her that didn't just show her as an annoying teenager because who cares? Why do they feel the need to make her think her petty problems are more important than the fact her brother was lost for five years? Besides her all the rest of the side characters are great like Tommy, Quentin, Walter, Moira, I just wish Thea was better.
