Gotham Season One: All Happy Families Are Alike

 

 

Gordon, Bullock and the GCPD work to stop the gang war between Falcone and Maroni however Fish returns to town to take it all.

 

Well what the finale proved is that the character of Fish should never have been created. Besides her stupid, ugly new appearance she killed off one of Gotham's best characters, Maroni, for the stupidest reason ever; honestly she just couldn't take being called babe? After everything with Maroni he is now gone because he said the wrong things to the wrong woman, was this supposed to prove how strong and independent Fish is or something? Then there was Selina joining Fish which I just hated because she is way better than Fish but no she had to be brought down to her level for this episode. Fish just bloody ruins everything and I jumped with joy when she was finally killed off (even her awful actress said she isn't returning) but even so I am annoyed that she has been a part of season one and when I get the DVD I am skipping all her scenes! I wanted to add that I loved Penguin's moment as he shouted he was king of gotham after killing Fish, so we'll done and I definitely hope to see him as more of a boss in season two. It is because of this that I really wish Maroni was not killed off because he could have been a cool nemesis for Penguin; why? freaking why did such a great character/actor had to go like that? What p***k decided this was for the best!? Soz for going off like that but Maroni was one of the best parts of Gotham and he should have killed Fish.

 

As for everything else the action/shootouts was a major highpoint because the one in the hospital with Gordon and ones at that warehouse with all the gangs where great. I was disappointed that Falcone is now leaving because now both bosses are gone now and Falcone's reason just came out of nowhere. Other parts that I liked was Bruce searching his father's study for clues because we got a teaser for the Batcave which I am excited to see in season two plus this gave us a glimpse of Bruce's detective skills. I also liked the moment with Nygma because it showed him descending into insanity even more and Kringle finding the clue was great because in the comics The Riddler wants you to find them. Once again I hope for more scenes involving these two in the next season because I just think they work great together. Finally the other major let down besides Fish was the moments with Barbara and Leslies because they where just boring filler and in the end we found out what I already knew; Barbara is just one weak, crazy b***h. Now I really do not think she can come back from this and I really hope this is the writers way of getting rid of her character (she is has to get locked away forever for her murders) so Leslie can now completely be the main female lead.

 

Overall this wasn't the best season finale I have seen because they where let down by two character who never should have been on Gotham; Fish and Barbara. I just hope this is the end of both of them now because I hate them and their actresses, I just freaking hate them!

Arrow Season Four: What I Want To See

As the title says this list of what I want to see for Season Four of the Arrow based on what loose ends there still is at the end of Season Three and my own opinion.

Arrow becomes Green Arrow: I think a lot of people finally want Oliver to take the full name of Green Arrow for the new season because he is obviously going to return to crime fighting. Plus you could say Arrow was technically killed off when Roy faked his death so they can't go back to that name.

New Arrowcave and gear: I don't want them to keep using Palmer Technologies as a lair, I want them back underground because its cooler that way. Also I want Oliver to have way more tech to work with just like Team Flash does.

More Meta Humans: Having Deathbolt in a episode of Arrow was so freaking cool and I want Oliver to be able to take on one this time. I also want this because Arrow has to realize that with the introduction of the Flash, Meta Humans and magical elements like the Lazarus Pit it can't keep remaining too grounded.

A better Thea: She did impress me in the finale of Season Three now let's see her keep it up and be the Speedy we deserve and have a more original costume.

Return of old villains:  I want Arrow to keep using it's villains because they have some great ones like Deathstroke, Captain Boomerang, Komodo, Clock King, Count Vertigo, Brick and Murmur. I know Deathstroke is going to return because it's Manu Bennett but I don't want the rest to be never seen from again now that Season Three is over like they did with Bronze Tiger. A great Season Two villain but is killed off in the comics and since he is absent this whole season I guess it is considered canon which is a damn shame (should have been China White killed off in the comics).

HIVE and Damien Darke: I know these have already been confirmed as the main villains but I want them to have a presence throughout Season Four just like Slade was in Season Two. The League waited until the latter half of Season Three to be the main threat which meant that half felt bogged down with them; they should have spread themselves out.

More Black Canary: Laurel has become such a great character now that I want to see her kick some more ass and have a nemesis she can fight over several episodes. Like with Thea if Oliver doesn't appear straight away in Season Four then that can be time to focus on her more; the three episode Brick arc in Season Three has already proved that if Oliver is absent for a while the secondary characters are still really entertaining.

More Diggle: I want Diggle to take more of a leadership role since Oliver might be away for a while and just give him a costume already!

No more interference from Quentin: I hope he actually sides with Team Arrow again so I can like his character again but if not I would prefer if he just backs off. Plus I just want the whole Lance family addiction habits to just be finally over because I am sick of it!

More heroes: With ATOM moving on to a new show they need to introduce some more heroes because it is always great to introduce one or two more each season. Some I would like to see and would fit in well in live action are; Doctor Mid - Nite, Lady Shiva, Onyx and Nightwing.

More villains: Like with above I want more comic villains to appear, here is a list of some I would like and would fit well in live action in my opinion; Anarky, Barricade, Blood Rose, Calendar Man, Cheshire, Constantine Drakon, Discord, Grifter, Jin Fang, Onomatopoeia and Savant.

These are just a few things I want to see, there are probably lots more I can think of but this is just a quick list.

The Flash Season One: Fast Enough

"I'll see you in Season Two"

With Eobard Thawne imprisoned Team Flash believes it is over however Eobard presents Barry with an offer he cannot refuse which may change the course of history.

 

Just like Arrow we have now got the finale of The Flash, unlike Arrow however The Flash ended things with one of the biggest cliff-hangers ever! Still this was such a good episode, a truly specular finale, and the main reason for this is the emotional tone with Barry confronting the biggest choice he ever made. Grant Gustin truly brought his a - game this episode; breaking down with the difficult choice of saving his mother and possibly getting a whole family but destroy the life he already made, plus the possibility of a black hole didn't help none. He sought advice from most of the characters but the two significant ones where from Joe and his father (both actors brought their a - game as well) who offered really opposite opinions. We can really see how much of a father Joe has been to Barry as he thinks about Barry's happiness above his everyone else and believes he should save his mother even though both are struggling with the idea that they won't be father and son again. Then there was Barry's father who pressures Barry to leave the past as it is because he won't risk Barry changing from the person he is today. All scenes with those three characters where just perfect; it just hits you right there and makes you really care for what these characters are going through. Of course Barry decided not to save his mother because of his future self who must believe this is the way it's got to be; I guess Barry was still struggling with the idea but it took himself to make up his mind. Still Barry got to at least say goodbye to his mother (after hearing her get stabbed) which again a damn impactful scene!

 

As for everything else it is finally great to get the reveal that Cisco actually has powers and can see the vibrations in the timeline, this is a first step to him becoming Vibe so looking forward to that. The one let down I got to say was Caitlin and Ronnie's wedding which really just felt shoved in there (plus how the hell could she not know what a black hole was?) but it was really great seeing Stein again who contributed a lot to time travel. However the second biggest standout this episode was Eddie because of the development he went through; with help from Stein he broke free of his depression but decided to sacrifice himself end The Flash's greatest foe. It is a damn shame because I really liked Eddie and he has always been just a really nice guy, always doing the right thing plus maybe he could have ended up with Iris because the newspaper is from a timeline where Barry's mother is alive. I guess I should point out his body did go into the black hole and he did wear a talisman (which the camera put a lot of focus on), so could he return sometime as Cobalt Blue or another version of him appear from the multiverse? I really hope it happens because I just really like Eddie and I don't want this to be the last we see of him. Then we have Eobard who couldn't get home but had a cool fight with Barry and I like his speech at the beginning about how he came up with his plan to finally defeat The Flash. Now I don't think for a single second this is the last of Eobard Thawne because the one I know from the comics always takes steps to prevent this kind of thing, even at one point becoming a living paradox so his fate isn't tied to Barry's anymore.

 

Now finally I got to mention the references in this and the first one is Rip Hunter who Eobard mentioned. This isn't too much of a surprise since Rip Hunter is in Legends of Tomorrow but still it is great to mention him with time travel and this again makes me hopeful to see his father; Booster Gold! Then we got to see Jay Garrick's helmet (the first Flash) which was really cool however I don't think this means there was a Flash before Barry, I don't think the show is going in that direction, what I think it is a nod to the multiverse from DC comics. What the multiverse means is that in the comics there exists many other universes where the people and events are different from each other. For example there might exist a universe where Barry did decide to save his mother or never became The Flash or there is one where Jay Garrick is the Flash, not Barry. I guess we will have to wait and see and I hope they go in this direction because maybe we could see new villains from the multiverse. Finally there was what Barry saw in the time stream; awesome to see the Flash museum but even better to see Caitlin as Killer Frost. In the comics she more looks like she is made out of ice but I'm am digging this look; her actress has already confirmed she will be Killer Frost so looking forward to that.

Overall a perfect finale for the series and just like Arrow I will upload Best and Worst and what I want from Season Two. Thought I'd say Screencapped is catching up with it's Flash and Arrow screenshots but I didn't want to wait.

Revolution Digital Comic Issue Two Review

Miles and the gang head to the Nanite city but meet with some resistance from it's residences led by Tom Neville.

Well I thought maybe the rest of the issues where going to be way longer, that the first one was so short because it was just to establish the characters and set up the story however I was wrong. Guess I will get the biggest let down out of the way again and that is the issue is just so damn short! Honestly I don't know how they are going to give a satisfying conclusion to Revolution in only two more issues which again makes me hope they will continue the story after this. This lack of content is also affecting the characters as well because we get barely any time with them like Monroe for example I feel that he is just tagging along with the group when he is such a major character in live action. Again because of this shortness the whole thing felt rushed like the journey to the Nanite city; the major highlight of the first season of Revolution (in my opinion) was the adventure and interactions the group had with others and in new locations across the Monroe Republic. In this comic we get none of that and they even just basically skip an encounter with a group of bandits, I just wish this was more than four issues. What I have to praise about this issue however was Tom Neville who played a major role and was badass on the front cover with his steeped, bloody hands. I like that he seems to be the Nanite's spokesmen in this and I also liked his speech of how the Nanite city works and why he feels content there; it was interesting and gives a bit more sympathy to Tom who was about as down as a guy can get at the end of Season Two and I can understand way he would turn to the salvation the Nanites are offering. Another praise in this goes to Charlie because once again I am liking her as the narrator and I liked how she rallied the group together when Miles refused to go at first. Final thing in this issue and the last one they also do a good job of making Rachael one stubborn, crazy bitch like she was in live action lol.

Overall the shortness of the issues is going to mark the Revolution comic every time but Tom was great in this (like he is in live action) and I am interested in this whole connection thing the Nanites are offering to it's citizens. Still this issue really isn't that better than the first one but the ending of it makes me excited for the next one.

Gotham Season One: The Anvil Or The Hammer

"Soon everything shall be mine!"

Gordon and Bullock close in on the Ogre as he mentally tortures Barbara meanwhile Bruce infiltrates Wayne Enterprises and discovers a dark secret about his father.

 

Well this is the end of the Ogre Arc and the villain himself and while it is a damn shame he had to go because he was so good I think he left a lasting impression. I just really liked his mind games that he played with Barbara; he didn't inflict much physical damage on her but he still broke her down. I also liked how the Ogre was killed because he was really brutal seeing his head snap back as he was shot (just one example of how graphic this episode was with it's gore) and his fight with Gordon was great. Of course like always Barbara was a real let down because her whole subplot with the Ogre didn't really lead anywhere in the end and that she actually chose her parents to die was just sick, even if she did hate them. I know she obviously has been through a lot but with this latest development she is being really unredeemable and she just keeps getting worse and worse. The writers just don't know what to do with her and I hope she soon gets written out of the show and Leslie stays as Gordon's love interest because as I said before she is way better. Plus I knew they wouldn't show any bondage stuff between Ogre and Barbara so it was pointless teasing in last episode but I was surprised by how much we saw in the brothel with Bullock which was such a funny scene lol.

From what I hear this is still sexier than what was in the Fifty Shades of Grey film, lol

As for everything else again Penguin shows that his plans are always more elaborate then we think with his plan to actually kill Falcone than Maroni; how he used the hit men was really unexpected and now he has started the gang war he wanted. Maroni was always great in this episode (though he always is when he is on screen) and the scene where he is shooting Falcone's men with his gang in slow motion was done really well. Then there is Nygma trying to dispose of the cop's body which like the Ogre's death and the severed head was really graphic than I would have thought and it was amusing that he hurled the body through the GCPD! I am really liking his moments with Kringle because I think the relationship between them has been developed well which might be because it has been happening for a lot of episodes now. You know I have read some opinions online that some believe Kringle may become the Nygma's sidekick when he becomes the Riddler kind of like Harley and The Joker and I think giving the Riddler a female partner would be a nice twist to his character. Speaking of the Riddler it was so awesome that Nygma actually left a clue in the letter to Kringle because that is what he does with his victims in the comics and it felt like a real first step towards the Riddler in Gotham. Finally there is Bruce's subplot which didn't really have that big of a revelation because it was kind of obvious his father must have known about the companies' shady dealing to  some degree however it was worth it all for the debut of Lucius Fox and I hope we see more of him because he is a great character to work with.

Overall I great end to the Ogre Arc and I am expecting big things for the finale next week now that we have got a gang war.

The Flash Season One: Rogue Air




"You can't beat me Barry so you have to bring your friend!?"

With the Reverse Flash still one step a head of them Barry turns to Captain Cold for aid despite the warnings from the rest of the team however more help arrives in the form of Arrow and Firestorm.

I guess if Barry learns one thing from this it is not to trust your enemies lol. This has got to be the best Captain Cold episode on Flash because he proves to be way more cunning than everyone thought he would be. His little speech to Barry at the end was a nice touch at just humiliating him when he was down and him mentioning the Rogues makes me hopefully that we will see a complete Rogues Gallery in Season Two. It also did a great job at showing how desperate Barry was for turning to a villain for help despite the protests from everyone and I guess Barry had to learn the hard way that it never works out. Then there was the return of Lisa and I really like the chemistry between her and Cisco and I actually would really like a romantic subplot between them in the future because it could work (Cisco's actor even said he would like a love interest). Of course one of the biggest highlights of the episode was the return of the Meta Humans and it was just awesome seeing them all in action again; The Mist and Peek - A - Boo especially because The Mist actually got to fight The Flash and Peek - A - Boo really kicked ass at the beginning, would have liked to have seen this side of her in her first appearance. It was great seeing the others as well like Weather Wizard, Rainbow Raider who infected Caitlin and Deathbolt and it is a damn shame that he died. Deathbolt was a kickass villain, played by a great actor and the only Meta Human possibly born with his powers, now that he is gone where is that little subplot going to go? Also I really like the dilemma that Joe had because I never knew he was so against imprisoning the Meta Humans and really thought they would get help. I kind of have to agree with him that maybe Team Flash has been handling it the wrong way so far and it is weird they didn't bring this up sooner because it is an interesting point. 

As for everything else I guess Eddie is feeling some bitterness towards Barry because of the things he has learned and it surprised my me he told Iris straight up that she is meant to be with Barry. I do really feel sorry for the guy because he is probably the only good Thawne in his family and I guess he just couldn't take being in the middle of Barry and Iris anymore, wonder if this will lead him to take a more villainous role? However the second biggest highlight of the episode was the specular fight between the Flash, Arrow, Firestorm vs. Reverse Flash! First off it was cool how Eobard actually used the Flash Ring the way it was meant to in the comics and I like how they slowed down the suit popping out of it so we can notice it properly. The whole fight it self was just great with the two speedsters fighting across STAR labs, Arrow using close combats on him (nice nod to Ray's nano tech) and Firestorm flying about and using his fire. Now I doubt Eobard will sit idly by in jail because he always has a few cards up his sleeve but since this felt like the finale fight I am curious how the final episode is going to go. Finally I just want to say there was a massive Green Lantern reference in this, they have just got to bring him on soon!   

Overall a great episode that is really only let down by the death of the awesome Deathbolt.

Arrow Season Three: Best and Worst

Just as the title says I am going to make a list of what I think was great this season and what wasn't so great so enjoy! SPOILERS!!

Best

Ray Palmer: Straight away I got to mention Ray because he was always a constant bright spot in every episode he was in. Brandon Roth was just such a great choice for him and his ATOM suit is just freaking amazing when it is on screen. I think he was a better match for Felicity than Oliver, I liked his journey to becoming a hero and he defiantly deserves to be the main lead in Legends of Tomorrow.

Laurel as Black Canary: Hated her throughout Season Two but damn did they sure make up for it this season. I think her costume for Black Canary was way better than Sara's, she has the awesome Canary Cry thanks to Cisco and like Ray I like her development in becoming a hero. They didn't rush it and made her a badass straight away they gave her training with Wildcat and Nyssa and showed that she was just a beginner at the start.

The Secret Origins of Felicity Smoak: Felicity just has been the worst for the later half of this season but her origin episode was great and one we needed. 

Wildcat: So underused this whole season but what we did see of him was great and he was an awesome first trainer for Laurel.

The Crossover: Just like on The Flash the crossover on Arrow was just so perfect! They have just got to do a crossover at least once or twice every season because I just love Team Arrow and Team Flash working together.

Captain Boomerang: So far one of the best comic characters adapted to live action and I am glad it was my favourite Suicide Squad member. Had some epic fight scenes with Arrow and Flash, his boomerang weapons where done so well and great casting. I really, really, really, hope we see more of him in Season Four!!!

Arsenal: Despite taking a bit of a back seat this season I enjoyed seeing Roy in his full costume and he had some awesome action sequences during the Brick Arc and his departure was done really well.

The Brick Arc: Vinnie Jones as Brick is now one of the most memorable Arrow villains because of his dominating presence as Brick and he gave us an epic three episode arc that gave the secondary characters time to shine.

Ra's Al Ghul: Another great casting and despite being mainly a Batman villain they have worked Ra's and the League into the Arrow universe where he really fits in. We also got to finally see the Lazarus Pit in live action which opens the doors to the possibility of more magic/supernatural in Arrow.

Return of Deathstroke: DEATHSTROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maseo and Tatsu: I didn't like the Flashbacks but these two characters where way better in the present timeline such as Maseo in the League, Tatsu as Katana and their final duel.

Episodes 1 -13: Though there are some gems in the latter half of Season Three like "The Return" and "Broken Arrow" I think the first thirteen episodes where the best. I think this because the League became more heavily involved and some of their plotlines where slow and Quentin going crazy against Arrow was just something I didn't like because he went back to being a jerk.

All the villains: I know I already mentioned some above but all the other villains have just been so great this season. Komodo, Count Vertigo, Murmur and Deathbolt (think that's the rest of them) where all awesome and I hope they return in Season Four.

Tommy: It's always great when they find a way to bring back Tommy even if it is just for a bit in Flashbacks.


Worst

Corto Maltese: Didn't like this episode because it was all just spent trying to convince Thea to come home and it was a bit boring for the most part, even Diggle's ARGUS mission wasn't that interesting.

Malcolm drugged Thea to kill Sara: After spending an entire episode with Oliver defending Malcolm's innocence for Sara's murder they had to reveal that it was him all along. I think it would have been better if it was an original character or Damien Darke and HIVE.

The Flashbacks: They did give us some great action scenes but they just weren't as exciting as the previous Season's.

Quentin now against Arrow: Hated that Quentin had to turn against Arrow because he was such a good ally throughout Season Two and the first half of this season; some say he may have been too much like Jim Gordon but I don't care I liked it. What really bothers me is that he is against Arrow because his anger is driving him over Sara's death; it was good for one episode but more than that was just too much and he went back to being a complete jerk to everyone like in Season One.

Felicity: She was great in the first half of Season Three but her being with Oliver was just not the right way to go with her if the writers wanted to do more with her character. After Oliver was "killed" by Ra's I don't think there was an episode afterwards when she didn't cry and she was just such a downer when I used to look forward to her scenes.

ALPHA/OMEGA in the present: I'm glad it doesn't have much of a presence throughout the whole season like Mirakuru but it still felt like they did the same thing by bringing it into the present. I know this is a way to connect the Flashbacks and present scenarios but in my opinion the big danger for the finale could have been original.

Thea: A character who the writers have messed up ever since she was introduced and they still have barely improved her. She has been such a whiny and annoying brat that I just hate it when the focus is on her and it bothers me that she constantly has to hate someone all season; Season One it was Oliver/Moira, Season Two it was Moira and now Season Three it was Malcolm. I know Malcolm drugged her to kill Sara but I didn't like that she could just turn on him so easily and keep insulting him when I'm sure Malcolm can just kill her with ease. The most annoying thing however was that they built up her character so much with training but the second she is brought back into the story she just opens her club again like in the previous season. I hate that so much time is invested into her character when it could have gone to others because the only time she really shined was the finale and I think the wait was too long.

The Suicide Squad mission: I liked that we got to see Cupid and Deadshot again but their mission was so plain that I didn't see the point of the squad being called in; they are called the Suicide Squad because they are sent in on mission the normal military can't do and with a low rate of survival. For example I'm rereading my New 52 comics and the first squad mission is to take out a stadium full of zombies! At the very least let them fight Meta Humans in live action.

There you have it just a few standout moments from this season I wanted to mentioned though I am sure I have missed some. I might soon write a list of what I want to see in Season Four based on my opinion and what has already been established in the show.
