Batman Vs Superman Dawn Of Justice Trailer Breakdown

I'm subscribed to a lot of reviewers on Youtube who like to breakdown a new trailer and pick out anything important from it and I thought I'd do the same for the new Batman vs. Superman trailer. Now I haven't watched any breakdowns myself yet, this list is what I have managed to find. SPOILERS

Superman deals with the aftermath of his fight with Zodd: It is smart that they haven't forgotten how much destruction these two caused. It looks like opinions are split with whether or not Superman is a hero or menace and I guess that is going to influence Superman's decisions a lot in this film.

Bruce Wayne was at Metropolis: This probably is what really influence's Bruce's decision to go after Superman because he did manage to save a child but also saw how many other lives where lost. I was wondering why he was in Metropolis but we also see a destroyed Wayne Financials building so I guess he had a board meeting with them or something.

The Joker ruined Bruce's life: We have two pieces of evidence to support this; the threatening letter Bruce received near the beginning and the Robin costume with the Joker graffiti. Now I don't know what it means with "You let your family die", could this mean that after Bruce retired he started but also lost a family?

Bruce retired because The Joker killed Jason Todd: The shot of the Robin costume was so awesome because it opens the possibility of the Red Hood existing in this universe who we can hopefully see in a solo Batman film. In my opinion I think it is highly likely Bruce retired because of the murder of Jason; in the comics Batman does still continue to fight crime but maybe in this film he just couldn't move on.

There will be a small montage of Bruce's time of Batman: Glad we will get some time spent on Bruce's life as Batman (maybe we will see some villains) but I also saw in the trailer the time Bruce's parent's where shot so I hope the montage doesn't take too long because I don't want to see Batman's origins yet AGAIN!

Clark Kent doesn't like Batman: It seems that Clark doesn't agree with the methods of Batman which is why he seems to trying to write an article on him but obviously his boss doesn't agree.

Superman has to decide to stay or leave: His mom and Lois still agree that Superman is needed for the world despite what the public think.

Lex Luther is the big bad: Well this is an obvious one but what is cool is that he also has brought Superman to his knees and it is probably because of the kryptonite he has. He also has the body of Zodd which makes me think.....

Zodd will be revived as Doomsday or Bizzaro: I really hope it isn't Doomsday because he has his own origin story and I think it is too early to bring him in. However I will be alright with Zodd being Bizzaro who is a zombie - like opposite of Superman.

Wonder Woman: The glimpse of Wonder Woman was really great and I think she will appear when Luther is revealed as the big bad not to interfere with Batman fighting Superman. I also think she is fighting Bizzaro because she looks to be blocking a blue laser and Bizzaro does have cold vision.

The Superman army gets out of control: I don't think Superman wants this army; they are most likely a bunch of fanatics who formed a cult because of him. Since they are fighting Batman I guess they might go too far at one point.

There you have it just a list of what I managed to spot in the new trailer but there are probably some stuff I missed. I think I will keep doing this now with trailers for comic book films or for like the Arrow and Flash. 

Gotham Season One: Welcome Back, Jim Gordon

Good cops vs. Bad cops

When a key witness in a homicide ends up dead Gordon suspects it was an inside job by the GCPD, meanwhile Penguin take's over Fish's business and Fish herself is being tortured by Falcone's men.

An episode where we had to deal with the corrupt GCPD again and have read some reviews saying that they where annoyed that it was addressing this issue once again. I on the other hand am glad the villains where cops again because I think it needs more than one episode to reform the GCPD. For one Gordon really shined again in this because you just got to really like his portrayal to be unflinching in his sense of justice, especially when it seemed the narcotics squad was untouchable. I really liked Gordon's speech at the end to his fellow officers and how they, included Essen, supported him this time. However it didn't end too well for Gordon when he wonders if getting Penguin's help was such a good idea; I hope they don't just drop this in future episodes. The other big story that was going on was with Fish but I think her torture was completely wasted since they didn't do anything, even if I liked her I would still feel this way. However once again Fish's right hand man Butch really stood out with the way he freed himself, rescued Fish and got her to safety - the guy has some real iron loyalty. It annoys me that even though Fish's actress confirms she isn't returning for season two (hopefully killed off) I bet we are still going to have to go through some big story arc with her which will waste a lot of screen time when it should be given to Butch.

"I bet you'll probably never hear from Ivy or Selina again Master Bruce"

As for everything else it is always good to see Bruce and Alfred (their absence was even explained) and even though their scenes wasn't much it was still nice to see Alfred helping Bruce once again. Hopefully they will play a large part next episode, especially since Selina says she never saw the shooting in the first place. The scenes with Penguin and his mother didn't feel really important except at the end when he her said how he out foxed Fish however I always hate how afraid he is around her. Like he said he has already proved that he is better than her because of his big plan with Falcone and the fact he predicted all her plans; I just want him to kill her already because I think it's obvious Penguin will at the end (Penguin is canon to the comics while Fish is not). Finally Nygma's moments with Kringle are still really funny and it is great how he has his own small subplot not that tried to the main story. Oh yeah and it is always great seeing Zsaz being all badass once again and I really like his helpers in the show.

"Your two seconds off, you have to follow my movements exactly!"

Overall an enjoyable episode but that was mostly because of Gordon's main story arc.

Arrow Season Two: State v. Queen

"I'm back!"

The episode begins six months ago during a Flashback and it is revealed that The Count escaped during The Undertaking (even setting The Dollmaker free), it then goes to the present and Moira's trial has begun. In a Flashback Oliver, Sara, Ivo and some of the pirates are now on the island and Slade and Shado prepare to rescue Oliver, in the present Oliver sends Diggle home because he looks ill and later collapses in front of Felicity. The Count, now renamed Count Vertigo, is back to selling Vertigo but has bigger plans meanwhile Oliver and Felicity find out Diggle has trace amounts of Vertigo in his system though they don't know how it got there. At the trial things aren't looking too good for Moira, especially since Laurel's boss says he has a trump card, however he suddenly collapses as well, in a Flashback Shado and Slade arrive to help Oliver. Later Oliver knows that Moira is still keeping secrets however soon a video is posted on the internet of Count Vertigo who has kidnapped Laurel's boss and says that he has infected numerous people with Vertigo already. Laurel is then put in charge of prosecuting Moira and Roy helps Thea vent her frustration with boxing.



DEATHSTROKE!!!!!!!!

Laurel then begs Moira to accept the plea bargain because she doesn't want to use the trump card meanwhile Arrow tracks down Count Vertigo but he escapes, taking advantage that Arrow doesn't kill now. Moira then tells Oliver and Thea that she once had an affair with Malcolm much to their disgust and this goes against her in court; Laurel stating that she was never in any true danger from Malcolm. In a Flashback Slade and Shado successfully rescues Oliver and Sara, in the present Felicity figures out immunization vans infected people with Vertigo so Count Vertigo can create supply and demand however she is kidnapped while investigating a van. Oliver then gets a call from Count Vertigo who has figured out he is Arrow but is killed by him when he threatens Felicity. In a Flashback Slade is still not doing too well from his wounds so Sara suggests the Mirakuru on the sub, in the present Moira is found not guilty much to the surprise of everyone. It is then revealed that Brother Blood was the one backing Count Vertigo however a man named Cyrus Gold (Graham Shiels) has survived his injection. The episode ends with the reveal the Malcolm Merlyn is still alive; admitting that he rigged the trial to get Moira free and that Thea is actually his daughter.

"And I'm back too"

Got the return of two great Arrow villains in this and I guess I will first start off with the main one and that is Count Vertigo. I have read other reviews that people don't like him too much because he is like a Joker copy (I admit that video was a copy from The Dark Knight) however I have always liked him because despite him not having any powers it was smart that they turned it into a drug. Like his overall plan in this episode was really great as well and I liked the two action scenes when Arrow tracked him down and it was cool that he figured out Arrow's identity. Plus Count Vertigo brought up Oliver's vow of no killing again and in such a big way because of kidnapping Felicity; it was a really great moment when Arrow shot him out the window and I guess Oliver is going to have to live with the fact he killed after his vow now. Shame that Count Vertigo is dead now but I think he had a real impact on the story in this episode.

"Just a little taste Felicity, you'll love it"

The other major event in this episode was Moira's trial and I liked how that was handled as well because it had so many twists like the fact Moira had an affair with Malcolm and I liked the moments Oliver and Thea went through wen dealing with the whole thing. I seriously thought Moira would be found guilty and I was really surprised when she wasn't but that was explained with the return of Malcolm Merlyn. Really glad he is back because he was such an awesome villain and played by such a great actor who definitely has more to give to the series. He has some explaining about how he faked his death but that was overshadowed with the reveal that Thea is his daughter! I wonder how long it would take for Oliver and Thea to find this out and how much conflict it would create but until then I'm sure Malcolm will use this as leverage of Moira.

"Finally we got one and it only took 500 tries"

As for the rest of the episode I did really like the Flashbacks (cool how Slade has one side of his face covered like Deathstroke) but there was so little of it. I wanted to see more and learn even more of this Mirakuru and if they will inject Slade with it. Also I liked seeing Brother Blood once again and I think after seeing these Flashbacks it is obvious now that he is injecting Mirakuru into his victims and it looks like now he has a super - solider. Lastly Laurel is once again a let down in this because the writers are just making her out to be really unlikeable; I know she warned Moira but maybe she could have done more and her being the prosecutor really is a conflict of interest and really would not have happened in real life.

Funny that it's kind of shaped like a V

Overall this was a really great episode with the return of two great villains and such great reveals.

The Flash Season One: Flash vs. Arrow

 

"Now I'm here for more than just a cameo"

The episode begins with Meta Human Roy Bivolo AKA Rainbow Raider (Paul Anthony) robbing a bank and using his eye powers to induce people in to a murderous rage, luckily The Flash gets there before things get too out of control. Eddie decides that The Flash is a menace and wants to start a Task Force to catch him much to Iris's dismay who then warns The Flash. The police then go to arrest Rainbow Raider however he uses his power on one of them but The Flash and Arrow get there in time. Barry then meets with Oliver, Diggle and Felicity who are in Central City to follow a lead on Captain Boomerang, Barry then takes Felicity to S.T.A.R labs who then gets a warning from West and Wells that they do not trust Oliver because of his darker methods. Felicity then convinces Oliver to help catch Rainbow Raider and he agrees but first wants to train Barry because he notices that despite his speed he never cases a scene before fighting and thus is ignorant of dangers in his surroundings. West then later tells Barry of how the Arrow interrogated a suspect to get Rainbow Raider's name and Wells asks Felicity to tell him who Arrow is but she refuses. Barry later goes to catch Rainbow Raider alone, sick of everyone saying he needs the Arrow, but is infected by Rainbow Raider's powers however there doesn't seem to be any immediate effects.

"Too bad I don't surf I rainbows"

Over the course of the day Barry becomes more and more angry, shouting at Caitlin, police Captain Singh (Patrick Sabongui) and even West who notices a red glow in Barry's eyes. Barry, as The Flash, then attacks Eddie and Iris but his stopped by Arrow before he can kill them. The two then fight and it is mostly even but The Flash has his speed but Arrow uses The Flash's earlier weakness to get the drop on him long enough for West and Wells to cure him with multiple flashing lights, having figured out earlier that colours is the key to Rainbow Raider's powers. Rainbow Raider is then put in the prison and the Team Arrow thanks everyone at S.T.A.R. labs who agree to keep his secret. The Flash then goes to apologise to Iris but she never wants to see him again, now siding with Eddie who has now started a Task Force. Before Oliver leaves he gives Barry some advice about Iris and even runs into his old girlfriend who was pregnant with his child many years ago however he was never told. The episode ends with a homeless man being attacked by thugs but he is revealed to be a still alive Robbie who surrounds himself with fire.

Speed vs. Precision

We finally got the first crossover episode between The Flash and Arrow and I admit when I saw the episode's title "Flash vs. Arrow" I was wondering why would they fight because they are friends? However they really come up with a smart way to make them and the result was something epic. Talking about the fight first it was everything I wanted to see and it was never really one sided at all, despite Arrow having no powers he shows that experience is more important. Also it wasn't some stupid or far - fetched way he won either; it made sense to take advantage of a weakness we never really realised The Flash had until now. The fight really was cool; you got the Arrow using different kinds of arrows and martial arts and then you got The Flash using his speed to keep dodging and landing those multiple punches. This is will be a truly standout moment in The Flash and Arrow universe.

It was funny that Felicity never told him

Now on to the Meta Human of the week, Rainbow Raider, and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I knew he wasn't going to be the main focus of the episode but I feel the writers didn't do his character any justice. We never even got a backstory of how he got his powers or any really insight in to his personality; all we know is that he likes to rob banks. Something that really let me down was that his defeat happened completely off screen, I know they have time issues but couldn't we just get one minute of The Flash and Arrow taking him down. It is a shame because his power was really interesting and something different from the Meta Humans we have seen before.

"Smile for the camera Barry"

As for the rest of the episode I really enjoyed the chemistry between Team Arrow and Team Flash; first their was Diggle and Cisco who where so funny together of arguing who would win the fight. Also I laughed out loud at Diggle's reaction to Barry's speed and Cisco making the Star Wars reference! Then there was Caitlin and Felicity getting along so well, I guess Caitlin is really grateful to have another smart woman to talk like she said. Then of course there was Wells and West's reaction to Arrow and I admit they have a point and it shows the contrast between The Flash and Arrow. The Arrow is always going to feared more than loved, that is just how it is always going to be because of his darker methods and the kills he has attached to his reputation. The Flash on the other hand is more of a hero and symbol of hope because of the feats he can achieve with his speed and doing this in the daytime doesn't hurt either lol. However did anyone else notice that Oliver felt something was off with Wells? Maybe if someone like Oliver was unnerved maybe Wells is more sinister than I thought. Plus it looked like Wells knew the identity of Arrow all along and I'm guessing it has something to do with his future, super - computer.
 

Awkward

What annoyed me however was that Eddie is starting a Task Force to stop The Flash; even though this is typical of the police in comics I didn't want them to go this route in The Flash. Maybe it annoys me because, despite Eddie's recent experience, it should be obvious The Flash isn't a menace. Besides in the end those who start a Task Force are either going to realise in the end that they are wrong or get killed never knowing. Since we are on this topic Iris continues to bug me and that is now she has completely changed her mind about The Flash after this one incident that was explained in the end. Characters like Iris and Laurel (especially Arrow's first and second season) get on my nerves because even if they are or where the main love interest why do they feel their opinions matter so much? Like with Iris at the end, why does she have to act all bloody high and mighty with The Flash because she is against him now when not that long ago she acted like his biggest fan girl.

"I got a name and it is not the Human Torch"

Overall the first major crossover was a big success and the ending reveals possible future plot points for both shows; Felicity asking for help on Black Canary's murder and that Robbie is still alive and a Meta Human. I know which Meta Human he is and what powers he has but I'll wait until next episode to go into more detail on them. Lastly I know I am behind with the Arrow reviews but I might review the next episode because even though it is season three it is still part two of this crossover.
